Onechanbara is girls fighting Zombies in bikinis. That's it, and it's really just because they can make them wear next to nothing, with no purpose behind it aside from watching them wearn next to nothing.

Forgive me if I was being presumptuous, but didn't Onechanbara end up as some terrible bargain-bin garbage?

I'd probably expect Suda51 to do a far better job.

For anyone concerned about stereotypes, I'd suggest comparing Lollipop Chainsaw to Onechanbara.

Onechanbara is girls fighting Zombies in bikinis. That's it, and it's really just because they can make them wear next to nothing, with no purpose behind it aside from watching them wearn next to nothing.

Sometimes it's them in schoolgirl outfits.
The plot is pretty much exactly as dumb as you'd think, so much so that it feels like a parody without trying to be. The move- yes, there's a movie- did too.

Lollipop Chansaw is using the Cheerleader & Zombie / Pop & Gore juxtaposition as a key aesthetic to the game's style, which is what I think that the people who are interested in the game like about it.

Yeah, the Zombies bursting into rainbows is definitely a indicator of where this game is headed for me. Sheer absurdist nonsense.

Actually, so am I. Mightily tired. Which is why I want a game where I am soundly and unquestioningly ending the Zombie Hoard. I want to WIN the Zombie Apocalypse.

She's in a lot of stuff, and it tends to be amusing and watchable. It's a good sign, in my book.

Depends on which game in the series. Some are trash, some are competent twitch action games despite their silly premise.

On a somewhat related note, the japanese trailers almost look like they're playing it straight. I'd be convinced that was the case if it weren't for, y'know, Suda51.

This game is awesome. It's one of those hard-at-first but then you-feel-accomplished-when-you-get-good games. Takes some practise to figure out the best combos and how to get the most zombie heads in one slice. Would be nice if zombies mobbed me more so I could do this, but oh well.
