For those of you who don't know, this is a show about people who took a flight from australia and wound up crashing on an island where all kinds of freaky shit happens. It has some of the best characters on tv as far as am concerned.

If you're interested in watching the show, all of the episodes are available on abc's website streaming for free in sd and hd resolutions. I think only people in the U.S can watch them though :/

Anyway, discuss.

I'm about halfway through season 4, and I can already see shit is getting trippy.

I'd don't like the "LOCKE IS A BAD PURSON" angle though, and I just don't like Miles at all.

Miles gets more appealing as you go on. As for Locke, he comes off as an asshole at times but he's definitely doing what he thinks is in the best interests of the island, which is more than I can say for... certain other characters. :monster:

Jack and Kate just annoy the fuck out of me now.

Kate for playing her stupid love games, and Jack for being a goddamn idiot.

Like Benji, who depending on which scene he's in or which character he's talking to wil either come across as acting in the best interests of the Island or for himself :monster:

Kate sucks. tbh. Jack is still alright, when he's not being a goddam idiot :monster:

I never really liked Jack tbh, American cunt. He was supposed to die in the pilot, too. Kate's hot, being pretty much the only one left of that type after they got rid of Claire.

Locke rules, although he's losing it. Hurley lost it a long time ago, but he's still awesome since he's the only one that did a Baywatch-esque slow-motion run on the beach in the entire series, :monster:.

I'm at episode 4 in the latest season, and it's gotten a bit of a mindfuck now they've decided that a single timeline wasn't good enough and instead decided to let it take place three years ahead and half a dozen other times on the island itself.

Also, where did the flashbacks / forwards go? Sure, there's the 'three years later / ago' thing, but that's part of the main story now, not background stuffs.

It's a shame that they've lost the charms and still acceptable mysteries from the first season though. I mean, the characters were introduced in the first season, adding layers upon layers of personality with each flashback, which all eventually explained those character's point of view and behavior. The mysteries were all highly inexplicable, but there was still the undertone of "There's probably a very sensible answer to all that". I mean, the hatch was pwnage, but turned out to be Just A Research Station in the end.

Now though, they've gone completely over the top, adding Star-Trek-esque time/space fuckeries and whatnot.

The acting for most characters is fine, but I don't like - as mentioned before - Jack's acting, he's like a drama queen that can only look pathetic and be a bitch about everything, and the other one I dislike is Faraday, who goes like "IT'S [pause] VERY [longer pause] COMPLICATED [pause, frown]" all the time. ffs man, speak up and quit being the all-knowing Jesus that has an answer for Everything, but only right after it happens.

On the other side, there's also the evolution / development of the characters - Locke's gone weird now he's supposedly the master of the Others, but he's also very confused - and always has been - with his 'task' or what he's supposed to do. Hurley's gone officially insane, seeing dead people and whatnot. Sayid already was a killar, but now even moreso, working for Bug-eye. Bug-eye himself hasn't really changed, but then, his role in the whole series seems to have diminished somewhat. Sawyer has become a wuss that steals shirts off of nerds that get slapped in the face slash stabbed with flaming arrows, which is win minus the fact that he's become a wuss.

I don't remember much about the other characters. What's-her-face, the blonde with the big boobs, is still like she's on too much ritalin all the time. Red just whines but will probably die soon, Miles sees dead people, and erm, the other characters aren't important, I guess.

Overall though, Lost is epic win and just. I wonder what they'll make of it as they approach the final season though - it's come quite a way from the awesome first and second season.

Just got finished watching it now, was unbelievable.

The 316-folk seem to have gone absolutely batshit, Jesus Locke is creepyawesome, the Smoke Monster's house is the shizzle - I'm loving all the connections to Ancient Egypt, and Frank Lapidus is still kickass, as is the younger Widmore.

Also, Emerson's performance throughout this entire episode was amazing. Emmytiem now. Imo the best episode of this season so far.

I like how they're tieing everything together this season. It seemed to be drifting for a while there, but we're sort of getting a few answers.

I have to concur with this. Also, this may actually be the best episode of the entire series so far, although I'll have to watch The Constant and Walkabout again before I say for certain.

Emmy is short for Emerson :monster:

I think it's definitely up there with Walkabout, The Shape of Things to Come and the Constant. Without a doubt.

yeah The Shape of Things to Come was one of the best as well, but this might surpass even those. :awesome: like I said though, I need to review them to be sure :wacky:

Remind me again of those episodes you named? The Constant is that one with what's-his-face flipping back and forth, amirite? That was a bit of a random episode, didn't really seem to fit in with the rest of the story at that time. Was a good episode though.

The Shape of Things to Come is a season ender, I know that, but other than that, I forgotted. And I'm pretty sure I watched all episodes at least twice.

Walkabout is the one where Locke goes on about how no one can tell him what he can't do when he's rejected for the walkabout, then you find out that he was in a wheelchair as a mindfuck at the end of the episode. For me that was when I realised this show wasn't just going to be good, it was going to be awesome.

The Shape of Things to Come wasn't actually a season-ender; it was the one where Keamy killed Alex, and Ben confronted Widmore in his apartment about it.

The Constant was the one where Desmond was unstuck in time (lol vonnegut) until he was able to make contact with Penny. That call was probably the season's Crowning Moment of Heartwarming to date.

Also, thrad needs moar spoiler warning imho. :wackymonster:

This past week's episode was so good; definitely the best of this season so far.

This. Even though some stuff is getting more complex everything's so much more coherent now that the writers actually have a plan of where the show's going.

Tv Tropes ftw.

Any episode that has an excessive amount of Ben's Magnificent Bastardry, Chronic Backstabbing Disorder and showcases his more human side, is bound to be incredible.
