I never really liked Jack tbh, American cunt. He was supposed to die in the pilot, too. Kate's hot, being pretty much the only one left of that type after they got rid of Claire.
Locke rules, although he's losing it. Hurley lost it a long time ago, but he's still awesome since he's the only one that did a Baywatch-esque slow-motion run on the beach in the entire series,
.
I'm at episode 4 in the latest season, and it's gotten a bit of a mindfuck now they've decided that a single timeline wasn't good enough and instead decided to let it take place three years ahead and half a dozen other times on the island itself.
Also, where did the flashbacks / forwards go? Sure, there's the 'three years later / ago' thing, but that's part of the main story now, not background stuffs.
It's a shame that they've lost the charms and still acceptable mysteries from the first season though. I mean, the characters were introduced in the first season, adding layers upon layers of personality with each flashback, which all eventually explained those character's point of view and behavior. The mysteries were all highly inexplicable, but there was still the undertone of "There's probably a very sensible answer to all that". I mean, the hatch was pwnage, but turned out to be Just A Research Station in the end.
Now though, they've gone completely over the top, adding Star-Trek-esque time/space fuckeries and whatnot.
The acting for most characters is fine, but I don't like - as mentioned before - Jack's acting, he's like a drama queen that can only look pathetic and be a bitch about everything, and the other one I dislike is Faraday, who goes like "IT'S [pause] VERY [longer pause] COMPLICATED [pause, frown]" all the time. ffs man, speak up and quit being the all-knowing Jesus that has an answer for Everything, but only right after it happens.
On the other side, there's also the evolution / development of the characters - Locke's gone weird now he's supposedly the master of the Others, but he's also very confused - and always has been - with his 'task' or what he's supposed to do. Hurley's gone officially insane, seeing dead people and whatnot. Sayid already was a killar, but now even moreso, working for Bug-eye. Bug-eye himself hasn't really changed, but then, his role in the whole series seems to have diminished somewhat. Sawyer has become a wuss that steals shirts off of nerds that get slapped in the face slash stabbed with flaming arrows, which is win minus the fact that he's become a wuss.
I don't remember much about the other characters. What's-her-face, the blonde with the big boobs, is still like she's on too much ritalin all the time. Red just whines but will probably die soon, Miles sees dead people, and erm, the other characters aren't important, I guess.
Overall though, Lost is epic win and just. I wonder what they'll make of it as they approach the final season though - it's come quite a way from the awesome first and second season.
