Magic healing water question

... so like.. is the water always gonna be there in the church? We now know it can heal wounds and even internal injuries. What I want to know is, are people gonna be lining up there go cure their illnesses or aches? And if I were to shoot myself in the head while falling into the water, could I survive?..

okay that last one was me being weird, but I would like to know this.

No, I don't think it's going to be there forever. I think this was Aerith's gift for this occasion. I wouldn't suggest that anyone shoot themselves and take a dive, but... It could work.

Is the water really "Aerith's gift?" I seem to recall reading that the lifestream flows in the water underneath the church, which is why flowers were able to grow there and nowhere else. Of course, I can't remember now where I read that, or if it was just someone's theory ...

Ummm...the ending portion after the credits show that the water hasn't gone anywhere.

And why would it? It's a spring. The water is welling up from the earth like a natural spring. It comes from the planet and the water courses through the planet and lifestream. I don't see where the water would go, otherwise the flowers would die.

Uhm....I can't remember what happened in detail - I think the water disappeared from the church due to some monster or something similar and lost any use.

I don't quite believe his intentions are all that noble, especially after watching his conversation with Cloud in ACC, he was pretty much beating around the bush, not to say he flat out lied when asked about "mother".

If the water disappeared though, he won't be making money from it any time soon.

Okay let me rephrase the question for those who don't get what I'm asking. Will the water always be able to heal people I guess is what I was going for.

Also about the ending, well we don't really know when that was. Was it the next day? A week later? A month later? 50 years later and it was really Denzel and his kid talking? (admit it, that'd be awesome)

The water probably just heals Geostigma. Another question would be, did the rain come down all over the Planet or just in Midgar/Edge? If not, there must have been a massive pilgrimage to that church...
