Im conflicted in this. On the one hand, Cranstons an awesome actor and Id love to see what he does with Lex. On the other, I don't want him to be typecast as evil bald guy.
It was a unique take on Batman that was still consistent with the mythology. It made me excited. All of a sudden I had a reading of the character. When people see it, it will make more sense than it does now or even than it did to me initially.
. . . I don't want to give away too much, but the idea for the new Batman is to redefine him in a way that doesn't compete with the Bale and Chris Nolan Batman but still exists within the Batman canon. It will be an older and wiser version, particularly as he relates to Henry Cavill's Superman character.
I would have rather Dwayne Johnson been cast as Lex if they wanna do a different take on him.
He can have an air of authority, he's imposing, and and actually act pretty well. Plus with his physique you could have him want to be the epitome of human perfection, in body and mind. It would also help give him a reason to hate Superman so much.
Oh well.
... Gabe, you do know that Luthor in the comics has been ripped as a motherfucker for just about as long as he's been a corrupt corporate guy right? He actually does that "strive for physical as well as mental perfection/superiority" thing. I remember a monologue of his (I think from All-Star Superman maybe?) ironically delivered to Clark Kent about how he feels his impressive yet still human physique and strength are worth more than Superman's incredible planet moving strength because he had to EARN it through sweat and pain and so forth. So yeah, someone with a pro-wrestler's musculature would be fine for Lex... if they could pull off the part while they were at it.
Im aware. Thats why I said im tired of this
