I was messing around with photoshop today, and came up with this:

It has been a few years since I've done anything like this, so yeah...

Good job, a few suggestions though:

You should try to break your boundry, venture to places you've never been before, ie the adjustment menu, which is very helpful for making colours and lighting blend properly, also the background, minus the smoke, is pretty boring and 'flat', as is the foreground, perhaps try one of exmachina's tutorials (found in the resource thread) to help teach you about pretty much every aspect of a tag.

Definetly not bad for a beginner though ; )

Not bad for a beginner at all. {: It's good that the light in the background matches the light of the stock well. Here're some suggestions on how to make it better:

1. Try blending the stock more with the background so that they're not so disconnected. It's a good idea to place elements similar to those in the background over the stock a little so that there is interaction between the two. Like cmXT said, playing with the HSL (hue/saturation/lightness) of the stock or background layer will help.

2. Add more different colors to the background (sampling colors from the stock is a good idea to start with) so that it's more vivid and dynamic; otherwise it's very monotone.

3. Text is tough for everyone, but never place it far from the stock. It should blend well with the rest of the tag, position and color-wise.

Hope that helps! {:

Thanks everyone. ^_^

As I said before, it's been years since I tried to make a tag, so I was a little confused how make some effects and kept forgetting to add new layers etc...Thanks for the advise, I really appreciate it and it will be definitely very helpful.

The text is pretty crappy and I've never worked with text before, I just wanted to make something so I wouldn't leave all that black space. :P
