I know a lot of people instantly heard of me the moment El Diablo Gato mentioned me in the LTD thread, and I'm grateful for the greetings, but I figure a more formal introduction is in order.
I go by Blade/Darkside-Ky/Mimeblade most of the time. You can just call me Blade for simplicity or if you're a fangirl stalker, Darkside-sama (I have been called this.

Weapon: Mimeblade: a sword that can copy the appearance and power of any other sword so long as I've held the original at least once and can recall it.
Bio: I hail from Wisconsin, and for many years me and El Diablo Gato (aka Squall_of_SeeD) were members of the old RPG forum Icybrian, it's still around but a lot more quieter than it was back in the heydey of FF7's popularity among other RPGs.
We used to talk alot about stuff relating to the similarity between Pyreflies and Lifestream Tendrils and how Mako energy worked. We also used to laugh at the Russian Engrish Mistranslation of Final Fantasy 6 (that was a hoot).
Anyways, since then I've moved to Gamecombos to Roman Cancel to Dustloop.com forums, inbetween going to Holy Zen, and also spending a great deal of time on DeviantART as Darkside-Ky there.
For the longest time I was an FF Fantiction enthusiast until I discovered Guilty Gear...then my life pretty much turned from light happy classical music fanboy mode to dark thrashing heavy metal!
Of course, my fandom led me throughout the storyline of Guilty Gear and I've been obsessed for many years. At some point, though, Ed Chang (Skuldnoshinpu, a prominent Guilty Gear Lore expert at GameFAQs) after coming to the conclusion that Dizzy was the Maiden of the Grove in Guilty Gear 2 Overture, decided he no longer liked where the storyline of Guilty Gear was headed! And so he quit!
For a long time GG Fandom was in the dark about what to do with the releases of GG materials getting thinner and thinner and eventually BlazBlue was coming, so the fandom felt like it was in decline.
I was in a situation where I really wanted to know what Guilty Gear was all about, so I asked Ed Chang if I could use his resources and pick up where he left off, so I began the Guilty Gear Quote Project...this basically translated all the Japanese quotes in the fighting game to English, thus springboarding me into GG Guru status for some strange reason!
After that people would ask me all sorts of questions about Guilty Gear and I'd translate the info I had and provide descriptive chunks of info I could as much as possible...this has led me to translate Guilty Gear Drama CDs like Night of Knives, retranslate winquotes from older GG games, and even get raw data from GG2 Overture material collections. Danseru-Kun and others have asked me plenty of times to help with Guilty Gear Wikia, and I am trying as best I can, given my limited experience working on a Wiki of all things!
I also work with Suzaku (as he is known on Dustloop) and Raging Tofu (also on Dustloop) for various projects here and there. Suzaku himself is better known for his translation work in BlazBlue, but regardless he is also a friend of mine. Eventually I want to see about getting the Guilty Gear Xtra manga a successful scanlation as well.
As people have said before, I'm a man of evidence, and I don't entirely support pairings unless they are absolute canon...even with such evidence provided that Dizzy is hinted at being the Maiden of the Grove and by proxy Ky Kiske's lover (labeled Wife)....until we know for SURE, I will be adamant about coming to conclusions about anything.
Meta commentary has its place, but with recent things like the revision of Advent Children to Advent Children Complete...if things are such that the revisions of newer projects turn the fanbase on its ear...it can lead to splitting up the fanbase into factions (i.e. fans of the original version versus the complete version)...I'm aware of Capcom's rerelease shenanigans (MvC3 and UMvC3), and I don't like it at all, but it's something fans have to accept I guess...until we get ourselves into the gaming industry and start convincing them that "Yes, retcons and updates to the plot don't help the fanbase!", then we just have to figure out for ourselves what we respect as canonical data.
I say this also because of the recent information regarding BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend saying that the "true ending" has been changed...which makes me wonder if society is such a sell-out as to split it's fanbase in order to make more money just because they changed the ending to a game...I'm not saying I'm a purist, but I am saying that it's not good in the long run.
I've made my fair share of enemies when going from forum to forum, either because I came off as egotistical or just plain silly. I hope to avoid that and make plenty of friends if I can. Just know that if I come off as selfish or demanding for any reason regarding anything, it's usually for the sake of fandom or to encourage someone else!
Yes I talk too much, but much of what I say are my thoughts and feelings which I find might be of importance to many people who bother to read them. That's why I like intellectuals like El Diablo Gato, who bother to write walls of text and read them at the same time...I respect places like this, so I hope you'll treat me kindly here!
