Generally I think it doesn't matter how old something is, someone is always gonna experience it for the first time and it's just common courtesy to not spoil things for them. That said, there are exceptions. Things like Vader being Luke's father in Star Wars is so ingrained in pop culture that it is almost impossible for people to not know this, even if they have never watched Star Wars before.

Also, I think it's fair to expect tons of spoilers on a fansite for a work that's been out for a long time.

Like, when people argue stuff about Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit isn't a spoiler because it's been out for decades. I had experienced these stories through the movies for the first time and so have many others. Even after watching the first LotR I wanted to keep experiencing the story through the movies first and not 'spoil' it by checking out all the books before the second and third movies were out.
The books weren't really part of mainstream pop culture and common knowledge either. Spoiling anything to people outside dedicated fansites is considered a dick move by me.

On such fansites however, I think it's fair game because people have been discussing these things for a long time there before the movies even came around and as someone not wanting to be spoiled, it never even crossed my mind to seek out such places because of that. It just seemed like common sense.

I'm not trying to be that one asshole that says that just because something's been around for a long time that everyone should be up to date on it--I'm just trying to say that people shouldn't be too upset when they come across spoilers on popular mediums for discussing the fandoms. Especially in a place like this where the sole purpose is to discuss the fandom.

No, I'm not that much of a dick. :monster:

Night and Day could be interesting. Imagine the characters getting outside the city and Aerith seeing the stars for the first time in her life?

I just hope we can still move at night if we want to - I've heard that FFXV is like simulated camping where you can't see at night and have to camp once it's dark or if you do walk around it's only with a flashlight? That sounds like it could get annoying fast - although I appreciate the attempt at realism.

I think in regards to XV it was stated that you can move around at night, but that the monsters were stronger? And camping is supposedly the way you level up or something, so camping at night is encouraged. Might be wrong on that though. :monster:

But I'd like to see a day/night cycle for the remake, that would add to the realism. We don't need to camp outside at night, but seeing the days go by would be fun.

Actually not a cat
Its boils down to how ingrained in pop culture the spoiler is. By the time SW:Episode I was announced lots of people recognized the "I am your father" reference long before watching a single SW movie because it was everywhere. Of course, this isn't the same case since it will be a remake which will retain the same story.
Maybe this conversation is premature. After all, I'm sure the same people who are looking forward to the remake know the major plot twists already.

I feel like Cloud going all "it's impossible look how high up it goes" was somewhat off considering Cloud was a "SOLDIER" and actually stronger than the rest. That dialogue part should be changed.

Well, in the OG it seemed like they actually had some limits. Like, if Cloud had been the same in the OG as in AC, he wouldn't need to climb and would just perform a series of jumps to get up there. Also, all the times a Shinra helicopter was out of the party's reach in the OG, Cloud would just have jumped up there and sliced it in half with the buster sword.

I's funny, but more and more these days it seems that people in the fandom believe Cloud actually was a real SOLDIER. Not saying you believe that, hieV, although the quote's a bit ambiguous. But it seems like a lot of fans either never knew or have forgotten that
Cloud failed to make it into SOLDIER and is apparently also a failed experiment. By the end of the game he has a SOLDIER's superpowers, yes, but at the start of the game he is not significantly stronger than Barret or Tifa.
