Please be sure to let me know of any minigames I may have missed, I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few.
So the whole minigame thing really became a standard expectation in VII, and, for the most part, none of the games since VII have really been any good. Or at least so well entwined with the plot. Blitzball makes a decent push for it but other than that they never again seemed to have really integrated little diversions into the game. A day or two ago I had a strange urge to play the snowboarding game so I loaded up a game and had some fun with it, and then also played around in Gold Saucer for a bit, most people loved the Gold Saucer but it has this not really been attempted since. Any thoughts as to why that is?
Card games can be fun but have zero plot significance, X-2 was the first that seemed to try to provide as many minigames as FF7 had, problem was they all sucked...so I didn't include all of them, but if people want the Cactuar game and the Thunder Plains game up there I'll add them.
