Moon

Anyone else seen this? it really got robbed last year and it's a pretty damn good film. I'm not sure what to say about it that wont spoil things, so here's a trailer.

So it's about a guy (Sam Rockwell in a great performance) who's manning some sort of energy harvesting plant on the moon. He's been there for 3 years by himself and is going home in 2 weeks.

it seems dull, but it really isnt.

Hmm, I randomly saw this as a preview to another movie I saw a week ago (can't remember what movie) and I got curious about it. Thanks for puttin it up Inter, but I didn't hear anything about it till then and now. Must of had some bad advertising.

Or I live under a rock :monster:

Anyway, it does look pretty interesting.

No, it got screwed over heavily for both mainstream and critics. they didnt even release a screener for it which would have helped it get noticed ALOT more

I saw it and heard about it (but I can't remember where - newspaper, maybe?), and it was indeed a pretty good movie. Although it's more of a tribute to sci-fi plots (as there's pretty much a carbon copy of HAL in the movie, and I'm pretty sure I've heard / read a similar plot a while ago, but I can't be sure).

I also like how they managed to make a proper movie on a relatively low budget. I mean, there's just one actor (and a few extras on video imagery, and a VA), special effects were done with miniatures and some computer animation, etc.

It's not a blockbuster, but it is a good movie to watch. And its story (and the concepts therein) is better than Avatar's, :monster:.

Note that my version was an R5 rip, with shit sound. I should re-download it with proper sound.

I did see it, and greatly enjoyed it. It's a hard sci-fi, more like Sunshine. Really hard to say anything without spoiling it, but srsly. See it. (Also does want on blu-ray).

I saw it and really liked it. I particularly enjoyed how it stayed strictly sci-fi rather than trailing off into psychological thriller territory. It did feel like a homage to 2001 at times but they're really not as similar as I thought they were going to be (Moon was a lot less vague, and, even though I like 2001, this was a good thing, IMO).

The movie was beautiful, the music sometimes creeps me out, even the credits. Props to David Bowie's boy for directing this magnificent film. IS THERE LIFE ON MOON???
