"Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" was a pilot by Kevin Tancharoen for a new Mortal Kombat series that was accidentally leaked online. After it gained immense popularity online, it was officially piced up by Machinima as a 10-part web series called, "Mortal Kombat: Legacy"​

I dunno what it is, or who made it, but I though it was pretty fucking rad.

UPDATE via CHUD: Cat's out of the bag. This is for the movie, and it comes from the mind of genius fight choreographer Larnell Stovall. He's the guy who did the fights for the excellent Undisputed 3: Redemption, on DVD and Blu-Ray right now. I hope that this movie gets made with Larnell plotting the punches, because this guy isn't just a geek like us, he's also got an incredible skill and ambition to create the next generation of fight choreography.

However, it looks like it'll be better than the others. I especially like what they did with Scorpion thus far.

I sort of like what they did with Baraka. At the very least, I'm neutral about it. On one hand, I hope they sort of keep the mystical 'Outworld' aspect of it. On another hand, it would be interesting to see where they take it.

Also, meh at the actor for Sonya Blade, and I'm kinda disappointed that they don't really look like they're the fighter types. Jai, sure he's a martial artist. Jeri Ryan? meh.

I also would hope that if this evolves into more than what appears to be a demo reel, they retain the freaky otherworld aspect of outworld.

Motherfucker grafted retractable blades into his arms. They looked like shit and you know it. xD

Imo, Reptile in that video looked more like Baraka did in the games.

It probs doesn't help that the Baraka in that video reminds me of the black guy in the New Moon movie. Bad times Dx

ROTFLMAO, this shit's either gonna be really cool or really stupid. I will say this trailer looks awesome. I can't deny that. Fucking kickass ending, right there. But the premise is so off from the original that it weirds me out. But I will admit, I'm intrigued.

One thing I don't get about the setting is; how is it that a handful of criminals managed to turn an entire city to shit? Like, when I first saw the movie, 5 seconds in, I was thinking "gat damn Outworld is fukken shit up", but it turns out all of the chaos stems from...Reptile, Baraka, and possibly some other dudes, I guess. How is that possible?

I like the trailer from a technical standpoint, like the choreography, the acting, and the production value, but they can't stray to far away from the mystical element that makes Mortal Kombat what it is.
