One thing I don't get about the setting is; how is it that a handful of criminals managed to turn an entire city to shit? Like, when I first saw the movie, 5 seconds in, I was thinking "gat damn Outworld is fukken shit up", but it turns out all of the chaos stems from...Reptile, Baraka, and possibly some other dudes, I guess. How is that possible?

They're just that fucking hardcore.

I like the trailer from a technical standpoint, like the choreography, the acting, and the production value, but they can't stray to far away from the mystical element that makes Mortal Kombat what it is.

I agree. I'm hoping we'll get more of that later on, and this whole real world approach is just a prelude to what really is going on behind the scenes, in the story.

I hope this is something specifically made as a teaser, because if the whole film is made as a sorta crime thriller, it'll just be a mess. As interesting as it is, it seems quite far removed from MK

It looks like a cool movie. I'd have to ignore the fact its MK to enjoy it though, as has been stated there appears to be little relation besides character names. Sort of like ignoring the new Robin Hood for being a Robin Hood movie =P.

I never dug Reptile's design once they made him fully lizard and shit.
