My Dog Zena Died Recently

She was 14 years old at the time she died.I remember the time when my mom and stepdad first got her.I was five years old and she was barely a year old.She died last Friday while I was at college.I know she was old but I thought would hang on for just a little longer.But I can say 14 years is a long life for a dog to live.

I can say she was of the most loyal animal comapions a person could ask for.I know my stepdad will miss her a lot because he was the one who bonded with Zena the most.

They say you can always replace a dog but you can't replace the memories made over the years.Its not the first time for me that a lost a pet.My mom used to have a water spanial named Mercedes that died when I was in fourth grade.The reason why I am a bit more sad with Zena's death is because she has been with me for a long time.She was a trooper she seemed to have some spirit left in her.The last time I saw her she was defiantly slowing down.

You never know what you got until its gone.

Thank you for all your concern and comfort.My mom and stepdad are going to spread Zena's ashes in the lake she used to like swimming in when she was younger.

Losing a pet is hard, very hard, mostly because you can't show how sad you feel in front of people who has never gone through the same, since they will never understand your pain.
