Anyone have any good pose references for two handed sword swinging?

I need full body shots with a good view of the footing. This particular subject is giving me hell.

Damn, I actually have a martial arts book here with images that would be perfect.

Try looking up kenjutsu or

Searching for this stuff is taking me back to my kendo days.

Dunno if this video will hope, but when it comes to martial arts, this guy is one of my heroes. His name is Kuroda Sensei. The video shows him executing several strikes and replays each one in slow motion.

Further question? What sword are you going to be depicting? A lighter or a heavier sword? It changes things.

Random video poasting taimu. Not sure if they're good for reference, but it does show the dynamics of proper (medieval / european) swordfighting.

Probably more to find on youtube.

Also, here's another video just to show how unrealistic those 10 minute sword fights are that you see in anime and films. Most sword fights, end in about 2-3 strikes.

This is Kuroda Sensei sparing with his students.

All of his strikes were to major artery areas. If it were a real fight, each person would bleed out within seconds.

I'm actually (morbidly?) curious as to whether people actually fought like that back in the day and how effective it was. I'm inclined to believe the classical, romanticized one-on-one duel was mainly reserved for the elite, while the actual fighting was much less fancy.
