Nero's effect on Yuffie, and the possibilities of it meaning so much more.

I just skimmed the Reunion Files and I can't find where they say that. Nomura just says that "we" used a traditional design for Yuffie's outfit etc.

Her AC get-up looks like something a lady would design, because it's quite chic. Not to mention with Nomura directing AC, he might have got someone else on board to help with the other designs. However, it still has the hotpants and hoodie that have sneaked into some of Nomura's work. So who knows, it might be the other way around.

As I said, I don't know for sure who designed Yuffie's AC outfit but I DO know that Nomura didn't design her DoC one. I specifically remember him saying that it was a newer female member of his staff.

As for DoC, I think Tennyo might be thinking of this, which is taken from the DoC interview:

Mr. Nomura, you are the one that is in charge of all the main character designs. Is there anything that you have to especially keep in mind?

Nomura: This time, I kept in mind that I have to draw a lot of people that represent the world of FF7. Therefore, I can’t just go and say, “I feel that this character should be like THIS!”, I have to consider the many factors these characters have on each other, whether or not they fit in together with each other. Though there are times that I work with Nakaaki and other new designers in this project, in terms of female clothing, they are given to female designers.

I see it more proper to view Nero as a living gateway to the negative lifestream. He's both the gate and the key; and, I would venture that the only one who really could survive that is Chaos.

Regarding Yuffie being engulfed in the darkness, I always questioned what and/or who those orbs were. If Vincent wasn't there, I do believe that Yuffie would have been destroyed.

PS: I liked Yuffie's AC outfit the best; I wish they would have kept her in that for DoC.

I like how it gives her a more tomboyish appearance. Her AC one is pretty and stylish but, I really think the tomboyish DC one suits her more. And I just like it and the colors more than the AC one.

And Nero isn't really a living gateway. He literally has negative lifestream within him, and its separate from what circles and gathers on the planet. It was infused into his own body at birth and caused him to consume his own mother. Whatever pocket dimension he has within his body, is something only he can access.

As for what the black orbs are, they're merely just tendrils of the negative lifestream doing what they usually do. Engulfing and killing people.

Maybe i'm a liiiiiittle too picky, since they both share the same concept and such, but Nero was born from experiments with Stagnant Lifestream and not Negative Lifestream.

No, one's apparently a natural Phenomena, and the other is the result of Sefiro's dickery.

They're a little different since the Stagnant Lifestream is spirit energy that became, er...stagnant and separates from the pure Lifestream. It's a natural process in the cycle and after being separated, it doesn't intervene with the normal Lifestream anymore.

The Negative Lifestream, however, it's normal spirit energy that was corrupted and taken away from the normal cycle, being an unnatural event. But while the Stagnant lifestream doesn't interfere with the normal Lifestream, the Negative Lifestream was corrupting the normal Lifestream and subjecting it to Sephiroth's will.

Another point is that, while the Stagnant Lifestream is not linked to anything or anyone, the Negative Lifestream was linked to Sephiroth, as a part of his being, an extension of himself. In a sense, it's Sephiroth's own Lifestream.

Yeah, we've got:

- Normal Lifestream - Fresh, clean, and oh so fruity!
- Negative Lifestream - Lifestream corrupted by Sephiroth's will via Jenova cells.
- Stagnant Lifestream - Caused by vague impurities overflown from the Normal Lifestream.

You know, I have to admit, they did remind me of that myself; but, I was hoping that perhaps it was just my darker side of self coming through and promptly dismissed it. Ravy has it - that scene just took on a whole new - avenue of meaning.

It's odd if you really think about it. Yuffie is INSIDE Nero's darkness, and the Nero's darkness sperm thingies come attacking. I guess that's how Darkness reproduce

When I first saw those tendrils, I didn't think anything of it, but when I saw it again, I thought "is that sperm"? Over on Something Awful, the Let's Play author claimed that it was "DARK SPERM". Plus, one of the members claimed that Nero came across as a sexual predator.

Oi. Yuffie pregnant with Nero's child? Honestly, I doubt it, but it wouldn't surprise me.
