Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all!

Thought I'd make a thread here. As I've just started playing the Final Fantasy series and I am starting out with number 7! Was a toss up between 7 and 10. So I guess whilst i'm here. what are your guys favourite Final Fantasy games?

Also as well as this being my first Final Fantasy game. I'm also streaming it and Flintlock told me that I should make a post here as some of you guys might be interested in it. So if you are i'm gonna be streaming tomorrow night at about 8:30 GMT, over on twitch (not sure if this link is gonna work, so if it gets attacked or something I blame you Flintlock ;) ) (Link Didn't work, sorry buddy!)

FF7, 9, and 12 are my favourites. Welcome aboard :monster:.

Thanks! its interesting to see how people have completely different opinons on the series, its very strange to see as someone coming from a completely different background in gaming.

Nice too meet you too! and thank you!

As I said my first one is number 7 but I did play 14 a hell of a lot (about 800 hours worth) but I feel like that hasn't really given me much of an insight to what I'm doing now other than I have something to compare 7 too! Though its nice to see someone who has played 14!

Thank you! mind me asking why its just those ones that you enjoyed?

Welp, 7 was my first Final Fantasy, but more importantly it appealed to me because of the setting - I like sci-fi stuff like Blade Runner and Akira and so it really struck a chord with me. 9 is just plain charming with an Oldie-worldie vibe. And 8 also has an aesthetic and setting I liked.

When I played 10, it just felt very linear, and stuff like the lack of a proper world map made it feel very small. Plus I didn't really like the characters much.

Played 12 for a little bit, but could never get into it. And 13 - all the reviews said it's basically a corridor, so there was no way I was going to play that.

I've played 5 and 6 a little bit, and they were ok. The problem for me was the controls - stuff like trying to navigate diagonal mountain paths when your character can only move in 4 directons really grated on me. So I gave up. I'd played other SNES rpgs like Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger and they were much better in comparison.

So anyway, I kind of lost interest in FF. Plus I have no money for a PS4 so I have no idea if 15 would be something I would enjoy. I'm guessing probably not though. :monster:

EDIT: HEY IS THAT A LES PAUL IN YOUR AVATAR?! :excited:

Hello and welcome! :monster:

Favorite FF's, in no order, would beeeee IX, X, XII, and VII. Though I'll admit XV was so fun i think it's another fave. :D

IX was my first FF game, so lots of nostalgia but I just love it's charm and fantasy/steampunk vibe. The story and characters and gameplay, ah I love it. <3

Hey, welcome!

I've got a soft spot for the SNES games but my favourite FFs are 7, 8, and 9, with 9 taking the lead by a small margin.

FF7 was the first game I ever played, I wish I could play it for the first time again! Enjoy.

The good thing about Final Fantasy is that it has something for everyone!!

Some might like the sci-fi or cyberpunk in FFVII while others might enjoy the teen drama and perhaps more real-world (in some ways) FFVIII or the charming new old school FFIX... not to mention FFVI, FFX, etc.

Do not make the mistake of focusing only on the numbered entries, as there are some gems here and there! Final Fantasy Tactics is absolutely fantastic (coincidentally we're having a community playthrough).

Hope you enjoy both the gaming and the gang! :)

I have a feeling that it is setting that seems to resonate with people as to which one their favourite is. Which is interesting as for as far as I can tell there are many different settings for the games. The only other setting I'm aware of apart from the MMO is one in which it starts out in a school. Not sure which game it is though!

I'm very tempted my self to get a PS4 and stream 15 just to see what its like xD

Also it isn't a Les Paul (wish it was though) it is a drawing of me holding my Gibson SG, another very beautiful guitar!

I'm starting to see that there is something for everyone, its kinda why I asked the question because I don't know a lot about the games myself, so I thought it would be best to ask people their favourites.

Also means that if I go on to play another one on stream then I can get a feel for which ones are similar and which ones that might give a different kind of feel to what I'm doing.

I'm interested in playing 10 on stream personally as it seems a lot different from what I've seen from 7!

X is a very nice game for inexperienced Final Fantasy players if you can live with how linear it is. You'll probably have a good laugh on stream at certain parts of it. :P

FFVIII starts in a school/academy of sorts. But I'm out of the loop so maybe theres a more schooly one.

Cool, I have a dream to one day own a Gibson, but y'know money and all that. Plus I should practice more to justify owning one lol.

Welcome to the madhouse! :monster:

My favorite FF's are a tie between VII and XII. I love them both, and it's impossible to choose just one for me.

Since XV's come out though I really have fallen in love with it. With future story content being released I may end having a top 3 games instead of a top 2.

Hey there! Welcome to TLS :)

As for favourite FF games, for me it's FFVII, X and VIII - though XV is still in its early days for me and could clinch a top spot in no time.

Welcome to the forums, I'll keep your channel open tonight and hopefully catch a bit of your stream while I XIV :monster:

Honestly, I've been looking for someone doing a proper blind run for a while so it should be fun to watch live. It's really hard to find that "true blind" though, given the game's legacy.
