Does this go here? I mean it's sort of like art, in a way. I make things with fabric that are incredibly nerdy, I mean, it's just LIKE fanart.

Well anyways.

Here are some examples of what I've done in the past:

Now as many of you have probably realized, a majority of those are godawful. This is due to many issues on my own part including but not limited to my own retardation about proper make-up, how to properly utilize wigs, etc. Hopefully this will change when I do my next two planned cosplays, Fran Madaraki and Terra Branford. Will start posting work in progress pics as soon as I make them.

Anyway, awesome cosplay. How do you know how to make stuff like that? Is there stuff online for shapes to cut out and how to sew them? I think it would be interesting to make something.

Anyway, awesome cosplay. How do you know how to make stuff like that? Is there stuff online for shapes to cut out and how to sew them? I think it would be interesting to make something.

It was a spandex/lyrica fiber, I believe.

But generally I either modify patterns which I already have (ala my boyfriends Aaroniero cosplay) or I work off of patterns I have in my head (which is what I generally do for pants and such). Though with Tifa I got a whole lot of help from just watching the movie, since you can tell she wears some sort of leather/pleather and that her buttskirt thingy is some sort of canvas-like material. So that was pretty easy to make.

Alright, so, status update on my cosplays. I ran into a snag last night when I couldn't find the power cord for my sewing machine (not cool man. :< ) but I just found it this morning. The first step of my Terra Branford cosplay will be making an undershirt so that my boobs don't flop everywhere wearing that sleeveless dress. I will work on that tonight, as well as the base for the dress and the gloves she wears. Pictures will be posted as I start getting work done.

nah, I was okay with it, to be honest. The spandex was generally thicker than it looked, so I dunno, it didn't feel that weird.
