Nomura points at Sakaguchi for the complexity of KH' story

Frankly I thought the secret ending applied to KH3, but I guess that was stupid of me.

It really looks like another BbS. Which is sad because BbS was a pretty good prequel as it was, but oh well.

Yeah, btw, you're not asking me but Chain of Memories is a pretty good game. Easily the best KH sidestory, not counting BbS of course. Maybe you should try it. :ultros:

Is that the one of the cards? Now that I think about it I did play a bit of it on an emulator several years ago. The fact that I was playing the first game over with a worse battle system kinda turned me off of it though.

Yes. The battle system isn't that great IMO but the story is pretty enjoyable.

EDIT: ...And way more sober than those of the last games.

Oh wwell.

Or in-betweens (Re:Chain of memories?) anyways this made me think o a totally unrelates game *cough*Devil May Cry*cough* that with so many backwards is making me lose interest. I really, Really like KH but I hope they dont end ruining it...

yeah indeed, duh isnt it obvious?, theyre trying to keep the KH and FF franchise alive as much as they can even if it means to make convoluted story plots and sudden game twists which are pretty annoying on a gamer'S point of view. >,<:hohum:

The Kingdom Hearts series is a frickin' mess. The original started out as a fun Final Fantasy/Disney crossover romp but Nomura & co. have taken the whole thing wai too seriously.

Being complex does not mean convoluted, it just means Nomura is a shitty storyteller. You can bury a message under mountains of depth like Miyazaki does in his simple and aptly Disney styled outings, and you can do it without the hero having like three alternate selves sharing his body.

Fuck Kitase especially, too.

Ahaha... Hahaha!

"The translation is rough, real rough. But he's basically saying that Kitase was reviewing a game and mentioned that it would be cool if you got more points for letting the president of your company die instead of saving him."

Kitase said:
"I'd love for them to add a stage map more close to the SquareEnix office. In The Last Guy, there's a feature where if you save the hidden "VIP" citizens you get more points. So gamers could get fired up if there was a mission "Save the VIP President WD![Wada]"... to save this man in our company who is getting criticized. But it might be even more interesting if people were like "I hate this high class VIP Mr.*blank* so I'm going to just watch him die!" (laughter) Could they put that in the game as a 300 yen add on?"

Holy shit.

Now, granted, Wada's a fucking moron who's hopelessly out of touch with his company's fanbase and gamers as a whole. But after reading the link that's the source for this news, I think Nomura and Kitase are more retarded than ever as well.

Porting XIII to the 360 was one of the only great ideas Square has had in a while. Seriously, cross-platforming is the way to go. What the fuck is wrong with these people?

The only thing more disappointing than Nomura's storytelling is how ridiculous and derivative his character designs have become.

I miss the days when Sakaguchi was in charge of the story.

I would assume that their surprise comes from fear of pissing off Sony by not making it a PS3 exclusive title, though with Kitase's apparent willingness to make fun of his own boss I wonder how much these guys actually care about their authority figures. Surprising, since this is Japan and all. I'd expect them to be scared of even having bad thoughts about their boss.

The Japanese have a very different sense of morality and exclusivity to us, even in politics their left and right wing are different from ours - hints of both sides course freely between both.

Many moves which we consider liberal are betrayals of faith and identity to them. They love hating foreigners, devoting to one thing. Of course, that's the stupid ones. And a lot of people in any society are stupid.

It's just disappointing we have people like that in positions that give us games.

Well it did put some egg on Nomura's face after saying that FF13 was definitively exclusive so many times. Maybe that's what he meant? (/guess)

Also, cross-platforming is probably the way to go financially speaking. But I think that console-exclusive games are almost always technically superior.

Depends. XIII was pretty much finished. There were irrepairable issues with it's design that had everything to do with Toriyama's love of corridor shooters and nothing to do with that godawful red ring toaster.

Fans still clinging to exclusivity as a quick fix for all the problems XIII had with immersion, writing and linearity are sorely deluded fanboys who hate that they can't buy both or are ignorant of how capitalism works, how it'll always work. And, like those butthurt mongoloids festering imageboards and decrying any valid criticism as 'trolling' to protect their ego, they badly want to believe Square didn't intend it to be such garbage as a psychological defense mechanism...

Denial is a refusal to believe even when reality is their opponent. The PS3 version of FFXIII is the most technical offering on the system. It doesn't relive VII's perfect immersion, VI's finesse or XII's open ended world because Toriyama is bullshit, not because it's running at around 420p on an outdated toaster somewhere.

I was just speaking in general. And I said technically superior, meaning graphics and presentation and stuff because you can really focus on the strengths and weaknesses of the workings of the one system you're workign with. But that doesn't mean anything about the quality of the game. Nor did I say anything about PS3 exclusivity, just exclusivity to something. And XIII most certainly does not possess the most technical offering on the system. Uncharted would like a word.

Wasn't addressed to disprove your point. I was mostly talking, in XIII's case specifically. Yeah. That's one game I feel exclusivity wouldn't have helped.

And Uncharted isn't bad looking either. I've yet to play the second and form a view though, I hear that one's much better visually or something.
