Ditto, same with Crisis Core. However, the only releases on the PS2 these days are multi-format tat, like film tie-ins and sports titles. Otherwise, developing for the PS2 isn't "commercially viable" - in other words, people being the sheep they are, are too busy distracted by the new shiny.
The Wii remake/port's failure can be linked (in my mind) to the fact that the original developers didn't work on it - it was allocated to another developer. Bad news - this same developer is working on Okamiden.
Still, let's reserve judgement until the game's been released, eh?
I'm not sure where 'the failure' of the Wii port comes in, aside from the slightly finicky Glaive charging and lack of the original credits. It was otherwise incredibly well done.
And given the man who forwarded the idea had a working demo for his pitch, he certainly has enough drive to at least try and make this game awesome and not shovelware.
