I'm probably a little late than I should be with news on this, since it comes out in less than a month (U.S.-Nov. 21, and EU-Nov. 28), but here's some of the more recent trailers

I've been out of the pokemon loop since Generation 1, but I like the direction they take with the villains here. Rival gangs and secret bases FTW. Archie is my spirit animal.

Still waiting for my demo code, I think it gets emailed tomorrow since I'm on Nintendo's newsletter (and I didn't do any of the things here)

I'm trying to find pre-orders right now, but the U.S. has slim pickings. I think Amazon and Best Buy are doing generic pre-orders, and only Toys R Us seems to be doing anything at all (Charizard Mega Evolution plushies.) There's also a dual-pack valued at, er, close to the same value of both games together ($79.98 USD), but it comes with a code for 200 potions.

The U.K. however, is doing it right:

I wish I knew for sure which of my friends/former classmates are going to the Launch event so that they can hold a spot on the line for me and so that I don't necessarily have to cancel on me and my friends weekly hangout this week because while I can go by myself, being there with friends is more fun. Do you get different pokemon if you manage to time the '!!' exactly when using the old rod to fish, or does it matter?

Also, I'm noticing that this game is picking and choosing when to use the 3D effects. Made me think my handheld was broken.

you have to use the pokemon bank feature to move them from X/Y - you can trade them directly across, but if you do that you have to make sure what's coming from OR/AS doesn't have any new moves or anything like that

so it's just easier to use the pokemon bank imo

Phew I got feebas and evolved her to milotic immediately with the blocks synthesized. Now all that's left is to get X back and find a dratini there to get my battle couple realized.

Okay guys I have trouble, how to put a pokemon in the bank from Omega Ruby or in X?

Anyway, I bought HeartGold shortly after getting my 3DS, which I'm fucking enjoying so hard. After some thinking, I decided it was time to join the world of the Pokéliving and bought Alpha Sapphire. I also bought White 2 so that I can trade forward when the time comes. This does mean I'm going to be concurrently playing 3 Pokémon games but hey-ho. And yeah I'm aware of the horribly convoluted process involved. I can borrow a friend's DS for the trade from HeartGold to White 2, then use the Pokébank to trade from White 2 to Alpha Sapphire.

Incidentally, I paid £37 for my copy of HeartGold. Which came as a loose cart with no box, manual or Pokéwalker. That was the absolute cheapest I could get it.

On the other hand, White 2 cost me £10. New. And I bought a "Used- Like New" copy of Alpha Sapphire for £15 on Amazon. IT'S STILL IN THE PLASTIC WRAP. WTF. BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY.

HeartGold/SoulSilver is my favorite pokegame to date, since I really fucking loved the story in the originals but now I get all the bitchin' bells and whistles.

The Black/White era was kinda sucky imo, though.

And damn I need to get back to Alpha Sapphire. Just...effort.

(ps if you get the opportunity get diamond or pearl, they're fantastic)
