Problem with dummied out Lobby Scenes in Final Fantasy VII (J)

[Cannot post link. Search YouTube for "Lobby Scenes, Honey Bee Inn - FFVII Unlocked" to see the video I am referencing.]

I've been trying this code out and am having problems. I can trigger the "guy passing out" scene and the Palmer scene, but I can't trigger the scene where the girl goes upstairs for Cloud. Yes, I did get the Member's Card from the guy walking outside before entering the room that says "ITEM" above it.

To be specific, I will go into detail as to how I am going about this.

K, to get the "guy passing out" scene, activate these codes before entering the "ITEM" room.

800987F400D7 // These 2 codes allow you to enter the hidden lobby (I think).
8009938E00D7

3009BBFB0000 // Makes the 2 customers appear.

To trigger the scene, talk to the Shinra Manager, then run around him. A dialog box will eventually pop up, and select the first choice for each prompt. This will trigger the scene.

To trigger the Palmer scene after the one above, disable the code 3009BBFB0000 (makes the 2 customers appear), and activate this code:

3009BBFB0002 // Should trigger the Palmer scene.

Talk to the Shinra Manager a bunch of times to trigger the Palmer scene.

But the scene where the girl walks upstairs for Cloud is beyond me. I don't know how to trigger that.

How do I trigger the last scene in the video?

I do not remember if I ever triggered the last scene via the use of gamesharks. I think I only ever did it by modding the game with the use of Makou Reactor and massfieldupdate.

My apologies for forgetting to get back to you after you commented on my video. Could you provide a snapshot of the talk-to line you get from the guy behind the counter when you want him to trigger the final scene with the honey bee girl?

EDIT: I will try to find a mod so you can acquire full linking rights. ...There! Now you should have the ability to post links. =)

EDIT#2: When you speak to the guy behind the counter after the Palmer scene, does he say the thing here at 3:10 or the thing at 3:56?

Or when one just goes "not a spambot" and upgrades him to registered user, like I just did after Shademp aks'd me :monster:.

I think we could probably lower that post requirement to five or so, never did see a spambot try and poast more than that anyway (they usually try posting links and shit right away)

Welcome to the forums! I'm always in awe of you code-hacker types. Love the Evangelion reference too. If you introduce yourself over in the Newbie section, you'll be posting links in no time :)

I discovered Makou Reactor last christmas, and I've been glued to it ever since, however I haven't heard of massfieldupdate. I'm installing it now, is it any good?

Massfieldupdate is what I use to make it so that changes done to the PlayStation FFVII field files (changes done in Makou Reactor) can be transferred to an FFVII iso/disc file. Modding the PlayStation version requires this extra step, whereas modding the PC version can be instantly done via Makou Reactor alone.

Let me know if massfieldupdate is refusing to update your version of FFVII and I'll send you my copy of the program which definitely works for all PS1 versions of the game.

Although I do have some exposure to PSX ROM hacking, I had no idea that there are specific FF7 PSX editors out there. Can any of these editors be used to change the title screen graphics and such for FF7 PSX?

I do not have any experience with editors that work for the PS version, apart from Makou Reactor. Massfieldupdate itself is only used to transfer an edit already made to a field file via makou reactor (or other software). Massfieldupdate on its own is not an editor, just an updater. Because the title screen is not a field, that part of the game can't be edited via Makou Reactor.

I suggest you look through Qhimm's Big List of Mods to see if anything appears to have PS1 compatibility.

Other people of both TLS and Qhimm who tend to know FFVII editing way better than me would be Lex, ultima espio and JBedford128.

A PS1/PSX modding project that comes to mind is FFVII:Rebirth, where a great deal of battles, items, spell etc have been changed. Maybe the guy behind this one can provide some insight as well.
