^Good lord that's gorgeous <3
I know what you mean about being disappointed in how much you feel you've declined on the keyboard. I played piano a fair bit in my mid-to-late teens, I managed to play Memories of Light and Waves flawlessly once, and even had the first quarter of Tifa's theme figured out purely from listening to her song over and over and over via a handheld CD player. That took some time.
I was a lot better at piano back then than I am now; I dinked around on it er, within the past couple months, and while not bad, it's not what I used to be. Maybe someday I'll get back into it, it's fun. ^_^

Well not to ramble on and on about myself; you definitely have a skill with piano, and I for one would love to hear more. :awesome:

Also oooh, that would be cool if you found a use for my name :O (or nickname, as it would be, with Mel or Flare!)

Some indulgent musings. Sleepy after a few hours of writing just there, but satisfied ^_^

So, I've said a few times here and there that I'm writing a book. As of now, I've just finished another chapter. Here's where things get interesting. The next chapter, one in which I have envisioned since I thought about this book back around (the end of?) 2015---one particular element that always stuck with and was one of the few foundations of building this book and its plot---is now coming to be.

When I had my practice with writing my Final Fantasy: Battle Royale fanfic novel, I had a load of different ideas: events that would occur such as this clash and that battle etc.. Most of them were thousands of words away from being realised on the timeline - many were tens of thousands, in fact. But they came; eventually, they came. With my novel (which I am likely to call Dreamer for a variety of reasons), I am now hitting one of the key moments, one of the pinnacle ideas that have stood the test of time and not changed since its inception. Like with my FF: BR, reaching those stages, where certain visions have been written and in their place as imaged, it's a rather surreal feeling.

And it gets better. This is the penultimate chapter to the ending section. After this upcoming chapter, I write the ending (which will be divided into two chapters, with the possibility of a third - I can add this as a possibility as its existence won't rely on things that have happened in previous chapters, except for those two ending chapters).

Guess I'm just a little excited in ways. An official first draft (and not a first draft in the completely raw "now change every last word and element of execution" sense), should be ready within a month; at least, no later than the end of October - a solid foundation of the whole novel. The book itself marks a lot more, too, such as my aim to select a time to leave work after its completion (regardless of publication success), and that it carries some particular personal elements of sorts.

This is pretty much the same post as my previous one  but because this marks, essentially, the end of the second timeline (where all that's left now is to tie in a satisfying finale), this feels like a bigger deal.

But where are my manners? Obligatory ancient recording of another FF piece. FFVIII's, "Drifting".

The interesting thing I remember about this one is I sort of created the first half by accident. I played the song entirely on my keyboard [i.e., no MIDI mapping, as I've done with nearly every piece uploaded here], but the first half I used software from the computer for the instruments themselves. The sounds of the trumpet coming through are actually as a result of me pressing harder on the keys at the time - and I discovered this after the song was created.

I ought to go back and redo all that in the sense of polishing it up, as I reckon there's potential there to craft something pretty neat.
