This was nice to wake up to.
I should have recorded my reaction to it. I've had more of an "analyst" brain for all the trailers since the original reveal and have been less emotional when viewing recent ones, but my hand flew to my mouth and I started tearing up as soon as the logo popped. I wasn't expecting it to be that good.
I think the best thing about it is that it's still somehow fresh? Even though it's faithful. I'm gonna rewatch this a shitton.

Looks more (to me) like the sound comes from the alleyway - her head turns that way, which is why she runs towards the main road. Could just be the voice of the planet freaking her out a bit or something somewhat indeterminate like that.

Aye but in this version it seems a little different, hence why I asked in the first place. I just doubt a girl brought up in the slums is gonna be spooked by an alleyway on the upper plate.

I assume it's Watchmen of Fate-related. We hear a glimpse of One-Winged Angel play there and I think it's already been confirmed that they are related to Sephiroth somehow.

Would a demo not show the year of release for the actual game on it even if the demo itself is released within the previous year? (E.g. If this demo is released today, Dec 31st 2019, but still says 2020 on it) or would it be expected to show the year the actual demo is released - I’ve never really checked the dates that get shown, certainly not within a demo.

A bunch of us have it so if it does get taken down someone can upload it and share for TLS folk (to a private drive rather than somewhere public). Would rather avoid doing so, obviously. Don't want to risk pissing off Square - at least right now it's some internet rando rather than an entity or site that can be issued with a C&D.

Well, we're in the dark age of the leek now, if you don't want to get spoiled, best run for the hills now. Man, square really screwed up by letting this happen.
One thing I was relieved by is that they kept the pan-in to the train station. The trailers just skipped straight to cloud on the train if I remember.
It's pretty clear, if it wasn't already, that this remake will be "familiar but different" if this intro is anything to go on. That ominous little bit with Aerith has me really curious. It looks like Max was right, the remake will be in chapters (betting on 7.) I love how much disdain there was in Barret's voice when calling to Cloud. There's something about him calling him a "merc" that's just a lot more disrespectful somehow. God there's so much to take in! If the full playthrough gets shown, I think I'm gonna have to avoid it until the demo actually comes out. I don't want that ruined for me.

It's more a Sony thing than Square tbf, they have nothing on the network to stop people accessing the .pkg file. You could do the same thing for anything else on PSN.
