Quick question for you guys (currently playing FF7 on Steam as i have no work tonight!)

Who do you guys normally use as a stand in white mage in ur party in FF7 after Aerith dies?.

(I normal use Cait in that role but yeah i was just wondering what most people generally use to fill the gap she leaves).

I don't really RP the characters tbh, I tend to stick to White Wind on two random characters and apply as needed :monster:

But if I did give them roles, I would probably use Cid or Nanaki. Cid because he's usually my third character, Nanaki because I think his magic stat is good. But I might be making that up.

Cait has the highest magic stat, so he's a good choice. I just never use him.

Erm... everyone? I abuse the Enemy Skill materia like crazy so... yeah.

Vincent is the most "mage-like" of all my characters though as his weapon's long range so I can stick him in the back row and don't have to waste a Long Range Materia on him.

Vincent hmm i had never thought of using him in that role lol. Might have to give it ago as u have a good point about the long range part.

Using Vincent as a White Mage sounds risky, though. One Limit Break later and herp derp what is healing I'm a monster rawr kicks in :awesome:

I use Yuffie. Or Barret. Any of them will do, really, but I like using Barret because I think his character would find healing in being a healer.

I typically like all my characters to be fighter/whitemages except Tifa who I always outfit with too-extreme fire-materia chains.

I overheal in all FFs, HP Bonuses are always my priority, I always auto junction Def, my top gambit is Ally>70% Curaja.

And yeah. White wind every day.

Before I knew about white wind, I use to buy two cures and slot them on whoever. It wasn't needed. but I play more safe than sorry.

Then one day I found and internet and it told me about white wind, so cure and white wind on anyone. I think the only person that was guaranteed a cure slot was Aerith.

After my first play through I never really used Aerith again. Every other play through it was pretty much just whoever had a free materia slot for Cure spells rather than who would use it most effectively. If you get the Big Guard enemy skill and use Regen you don't often need to heal. The only issue is how much MP Big Guard uses in the early stages of the game.

I never used White Wind, didn't realise it also cured status effects so up until about three minutes ago I thought it was just another variation of Cure. Who'dathunkit? Y'know....aside from all you guys...and everyone else who played the game... :closedmonster:

I always use Aerith a fair bit, and grind her up to her level 4 limit and go on the ridiculous quests to get the book for it and so on and so forth. I like her to die knowing she did all she could, ok? :reapermon:

^^Aerith was getting in on the action in setting off fire alarms in Junon to learn her limit breaks in my game...

She spends a lot of time in the woods outside of Junon burning those weird tree things I can't remember the names of with Fire2+All Materia to get her "kill x number of enemies" Limits :awesome:

Personally, I never understood loading Aerith down with healing materia as her Limit Breaks already did that. I tended to use her more as a Blue/Black Mage and Summoner.

I never gave the characters any set roles, just optimal equipment set-ups for whatever situation they were facing. It more than sufficed. Healing wasn't too difficult to handle with Aerith gone either, thanks to White Wind, and probably other things I'm not recalling right now. You could make your characters pretty versatile in VII, and I enjoyed it for that.

Honestly I dump Aerith somewhere else since I know she's gone.
and actually I try to have all characters set up with Restore all. I usually just go Attack attack attack cure all.... and win most fights with sheer force... I mean, that is what Cloud was made for amirite?
