All I want is for the guy to acknowledge his mistake. Just "that was rude of me, sorry". Is that so much to ask?

Errr, I'm not sure if I want to do this, actually! I'm not going to apologize for the comment itself. I have clarified to the Staff and any other interested parties that I took the entire exchange as a joke and friendly banter and I meant absolutely NO offense by the remark. I feel as certain parties took the comment as offensive 'all of a sudden', selectively forgetting that the entire string of conversation was a big joke anyway!

It doesn't seem fair to 'pick and choose' what you want to be offended by in a humorous and not serious at all conversation for the sake of convenience or something. That's scapegoating me and that's not right.

Yeah, I'll constantly strive to improve myself as a Staffer and treating people fairly, but I'm not going to apologize for the remark itself.

Bro, with your reputation as a hard ass, I'm not really sure why you're surprised he took offense to your comment. So, I wouldn't call it scapegoating.

EDIT: But, I must admit, there are some people here that have a hard time forgiving people for past offenses. And, this isn't necessarily directed at you Omega. :monster:

I'd definitely call it something. It definitely seemed pretty messed up from my side.

You know guys, I'm not a hardass all the time. :( Think about the times where I can carry conversations with all of you with the utmost politeness and friendliness.

My comment obviously wasn't a joke, so that defence really isn't gonna work with me.

I'll respond to Yop later. Too exhausted from work at the moment. I am gonna note, though, that I did explain exactly what my problem was very promptly and through the proper channels, via the report post function. M.O.G. responded to my post report by antagonising me further. Highly uncalled-for. I also didn't report Carlos's trolling of me, but that really doesn't matter since M.O.G. didn't bother reporting anyone's "trolling" of him either, at least as far as any of us know. He certainly didn't step out of it and let other people deal with it, which is what all members are generally instructed to do with trolling.

Then, in my eyes it seemed out of place in a rather humorous thread, to the point where it seemed nothing like being serious. I didn't mean to offend you either. The whole thing was really me joking. Sort of like

Joe: 'hey give us money'

Me: 'lol no'

Bill: 'hey you should really keep your promises to give us money'

Me: 'eat dicks'

Aaron: 'hey you should listen to him its good advice you shouldn't tell him to eat dicks'

Me: (thinking this is also part of the humorous exchange because someone telling me that i should honor false promises to give people money must be sarcasm, after all, it fits the general mood of the thread) 'eat dicks'

Aaron: 'i am offended deeply by this you have transgressed for the last time'

In my opening post I accused you of flaming. I am at a loss as to how anyone could interpret such a comment as anything other than serious. I know how absurd it is to throw comments like that about frivolously.

It is how it is, man. That's how I meant it during the exchange, and well, that's how I feel about it. I wanted to clarify that with you one last time for the sake of civility. If we have to agree to disagree, that's okay. I don't have anything more to say in the matter, or in this thread, more or less.

So you won't even apologise? I can't say I expected any better, really.

Just because we want our reparations... :monster:

Mog: And I agree, it's entirely possible to get on with you and have a pleasant conversation. The trouble comes from when you make a comment like that, which goes a bit too far in the banter department (given that we're not nearly familiar enough with one another for that), and then absolutely refuse to dignify my response - this entire thread you've responded to literally TWO of my posts, one being the weakest argument I had, and the other being something that had been quoted a total of three times already. It gives off a vibe that you aren't registering or even listening to the problem that I have with the whole thing, and it's actually extremely frustrating to just be brushed off like that...and, in turn, it makes me feel like I'm intentionally being snubbed, as though you're consciously disrespecting me. You kept on and on responding to everything Aaron was saying to you, never once dignifying anything I said with any kind of response. Not cool.

And by refusing to admit that your position could be in the wrong, you come off as an arrogant jerk that doesn't give a crap about other people, what they think, or their feelings.

But you've made your position on the matter crystal clear.
