Where are the rest of staff? Where's their position about all of this? Since when is telling people what's going on in staff classified as "leaking"? Since the stuff people were telling folks shined staff in a not so bright light? Is that it? Because most of staff are guilty of telling people things that were said in staff.

Also, I thought we were done with this posting in closed threads bullshit, because we had all come to the conclusion that it was a bitch move.

Way back when I left staff because I was butting heads with existing staff too much over issues that people couldn't make their minds up about (like when we added aaron as a tech administrator under the stipulation that he would not get involved in moderation affairs, and other niggling bullshit) I thought I would skirt more of the bullshit by being just a regular old member.

That sure as shit did a whole lot of good didnt it? I need to know where this shit stands, because I dont think I'm gonna stick around for this bullshit if it continues.

Indeed, Yop, X, and Mako were already seriously talking about doing this before the leak was even revealed, and as soon as we found out there was a leak on staff, suspicions naturally fell on that person instantly precisely because of these events.

So only three members of staff were discussing the removal of a staff member, and not even the one who was going to be removed.

Staff attitude overall is shit. Serious issues come up and only one mod so far has been at all consistent with keeping it under control. The others apparently cba to weigh in at all, or only when they feeeeeel like it.

Also let's address the downright ridiculous attitude that you shouldn't be a member of staff if you don't get along with one person, regardless of how well qualified you are. This isn't a fucking club. If the person gets along very well with the userbase and can act civilly, then get over the butthurt and deal with the fact that not everyone can be your best friend.

It's Yop, so I don't give a damn. If he makes the decision, it's his to make. And he's entitled to make that decision since it's his board. But, I didn't agree with her removal, since I know Adri and I appreciate her perspective on things. However, on occasion I don't appreciate the way she brings up issues with other staff members.

If things aren't explained properly, things get taken out of context. Like the issue with the "private thread". There was no private thread, her access to the staff section was removed (whether that was the right decision to make is another matter entirely). But, people jump to conclusions and they start wild 'n out.

And the leaks were made behind people's back. When I speak with a member about a sensitive issue through PM or through another medium, I give the rest of staff a description of what I've said to the member. That wasn't done.

If you're saying something you know is slagging off a member and you feel like you have to post it somewhere people can't see it, then you shouldn't be saying it at all. That's all there is to it.

It's not that I don't respect the fact that it's his board and his word is the final one, but having only two other staff members discuss this without the actual subject of the conversation being present to defend themselves is a really poor way to approach things.

This. It's really disheartening to see staff members online only for them to stay mostly silent or shut down conversation by closing threads (i'm referring to the member feedback forum thread here).

The removed member- and we all know you know who it is- had a long history of incidents that had convinced the administrators that they were unfit to be part of the staff section. The leaking was simply the last in a long chain of reasons that concluded with them being removed from the staff section. All of the admins were unanimous in agreeing to remove this person from staff, along with much of staff.

Where are the rest of staff? Where's their position about all of this? Since when is telling people what's going on in staff classified as "leaking"? Since the stuff people were telling folks shined staff in a not so bright light? Is that it? Because most of staff are guilty of telling people things that were said in staff.

As mentioned, two accounts had their staff access removed. One was the account of a staff member on sabbatical whose account had been compromised. The other was removed because of that long history of attitude problems, including a very recent one that included laughing at a member concern exactly as they were trying to urge staff to take Rishi's concerns very seriously. This move was being considered well before their identity as the leaker was revealed. This was explained to this member.

I can't speak for Aaron here, but sometimes, I post in closed threads because I don't realize they're closed.

I do not know if the exact quote was commented, if a twisted version was, or what, but from what I can tell, the context was not relayed to her. What was entirely neglected was to mention that Mako was upbraided for his comment and he apologized for making it, and that was long before Rishi knew about the comment or we knew about the leak. Yes, Staff sometimes makes comments in private that we would not do in public, mostly out of a sense of frustration. That doesn't mean we are 'shit talking' members behind their backs any more than you might express frustration about another member on MSN.

Mako swears, uses hyperbole, and speaks in exaggerated language a lot. He does this a lot when he's heated, and he was starting to get very frustrated as a result of all the reports, things people were saying in public, and the way certain members were acting, yes, Rishi included. Again, he was immediately upbraided for that comment, and apologized.

Also, Hito also relayed the details of Omega's infraction to Omega and faces no consequence, because unlike the leakers, the full details were given and no attempt to misrepresent or exacerbate drama with this information was made.

For as full disclosure as I can give without exposing identities, we do not yet know what to do with the member who used the compromised account, because though they represent a clear breach of report confidentiality for all reports, as far as can be determined, they didn't use their access to stir up drama.

All I can say for certain is that what's been going on in the last few hours has really, really pissed off a LOT of regular forum members, and they're just as pissed about what Rishi's doing as she was about what I said to her.

There's been several instances of people shit talking in staff that have been pointed out to me. Calling people children, and various other bs that I dont even remember that at the time I couldn't be bothered with.

One, stop with the moronic idea that people "want drama" that's utter foolishness. People are clearly annoyed with the way things had carried on up to this point and they want to resolve this once and for all. That is the entire point of me making this thread. The very idea is a clear misrepresentation of grievances and is yet another childish attempt at belittling them.

For one, this issue has is separate from the common funtionality of the board and these "regular" members could have avoided this.
