Shademp's "Dirge of Cerberus" Stream

Twitch Channel: Shademp88

Moving this away from the birthday thread to catch more attention.

At 12:00 GMT on September 27, the stream will begin. I have already tested out settings with help of my friend Dipsiel.

Let me know if there are any opinions/requests on how to do the stream. My plan was to speak at any time, even over cutscenes, but some people may want me to be silent instead. Keep in mind that the game has subtitles that you should be able to read, if you wish to ignore my voice.

Since its that game I don't really care if you talk during cutscenes.

Any last minute streaming tips? Like...should I have a schedule where I take a short break every hour? How do streamers handle breaks? :wacky: Write in the chat "brb" or edit the panel with a "brb"?

Take a break whenever you feel like you need to, but in general I tend to wait until there's a long cutscene for bathroom breaks etc.

Do you still want me to join you? I'll be available/ on Skype during the day anyway, barring something getting in the way.

@Lex
It'd be nice to have you there as a mod. Of course I don't expect you to be active at all times, but if somebody else can take care of trolls that'd be swell. :hohum:

@Tres
Noon. Using the 24-hour cycle. I've never memorized how to write A.M. and P.M. when it comes to noon and midnight. *looks up explanation*
What to do with noon and midnight? Technically, you could write 12:00 PM or 12:00 AM, but some will quibble with you. (They’ll send you nasty emails—you know who you are—about why those times can’t possibly exist.) Avoid the issue by using 12:00 noon or just noon and 12:00 midnight or just midnight.

I usually write "back at xx.15 (time zones etc)" but I've also seen people put on a countdown timer - Google or any other site with such a feature will do, and then you let OBS view the browser window.

You should totally have guests on a skype call :monster:

Don't know how to make all the Skype voices heard on Twitch, so at the moment there will be no Skype group call. If it is not possible to have everybody from the Skype call heard over Twitch, I won't bother with a group call during the stream.

^I for one am pleased to be aboard the S.S. Shademp on his maiden voyage :monster:

...

That sounds more sexual than I intended

The stream will resume tomorrow, 12:00 GMT (noon) and go on at least until the game is completed. Should be completed a decent amount of time before 19:00 GMT.

I am tempted to not end the stream right after the final scene, because I would like to show the list of Extra Features and to show maybe one PlayOnline scene. Buuuut that'd feel like writing an Act 4 in a story that should have only three acts. Maybe I'll let the people decide.

I tuned in a bit late because I kinda forgot this was going on. :wackymonster:

I'll probably be there again tomorrow. :P

Thank you Tets for pointing out the odd switch between night and day in Dirge of Cerberus. :D I never paid attention to that before.

EDIT: Pics of home setup for streaming

That was awesome Shad, I enjoyed your commentary.

Since we haven't done a front page article I'll write one when it's over and include links to the videos.

When you stream to your Twitch channel the videos are automatically recorded.

I think they stay for a period of 60 days or so. You can save them forever. Today's might not have finished rendering yet but they probably have.

...I'm afraid the videos might not actually have been saved. Just checked my profile settings and I had to check an unchecked box to "Automatically archive my broadcasts".

Also are you sure the videos stay up for 60 days even when you don't have Turbo? I looked up this Turbo setting you can pay for and it advertises "Increased Video Storage
Save your past broadcasts on Twitch for 60 days."

Also my Video Manager has zero videos. I honestly don't think the broadcast was saved.

EDIT: No Past Broadcasts are found via checking my profile either.

The loss of yesterday's stream has been confirmed. I did some test streaming just now and immediately Twitch recorded the broadcast. This only happened because I had checked that one option box in my profile settings yesterday. If you don't check the box, broadcasts will not be recorded.

A bit embarrassing that we will only have the second half of the playthrough recorded, but still better than nothing...? If I had known that recording the sessions were this easy I would have done so from the start.

T'was fun, enjoyed all the little bits of trivia and version differences you brought up :D You should do more streams with other games in the compilation :monster:

Cheers for streaming, mo chara!
