It's so worth it lol. Seriously though, it seems like everyone has a hard time finding this game, but i see it everywhere I go it seems...
And lol, I was wondering when you'd split it.
But yeah, whenever people talk about Moast Epic And Awesome Games Ever, SotC is one of the titles. Makes one wonder why sales weren't as epic along with it.
It is a really good game, but I'll go against the masses and say it wasn't the greatest thing ever. Personally, bosses with weak points isn't my type of game, and that's all this was. Even though the bosses are slightly different, the concept's the same for all of them.

Did anyone else momentarily run into this problem the first time playing through? I bought SotC for my friend, and this exact scenario played out.
Has anyone seen some of the speedruns for the various Colossi in this game? It's maddening how some of them are done.
lol Agro. i've had some pretty fast speed runs myself, but I don't remember them off the top of my head.
Has anyone seen the Little Big Planet SotC level?

This game is hard to find? I ALWAYS see it at Ebgames for 20 bucks. I think I might have even seen it in the clearance shelf for lik 10 or 15 at one point.
Anyways, I haven't played it, but I guess I probably should.
I wouldn't know. But it's a really great game, just a lil short .
Depends on how good you are at solving the puzzles.
But I agree. SotC is an awesome game. Getting it would be the greatest justice you will ever do for yourself.
If you're gonna play it non stop it should take a day or two for the first playthrough, but if you wana get everything, including the secret gardens, and in both difficulties. Then maybe a month :elmo:.
Not all of them. I've gotten quite a few done, but there's still a couple that I keep having problems with or I'm just a couple seconds over.
When you complete six of the time trials you get a special shirt or something that increases your strength (or was it health?). I think there is something else you get when you complete them all but I don't remember.
Awesome, I've got the game today and defeat the first two collosi. It's a pretty awesome game, but I can imagine why it never became a hit. The story (so far, correct me if I'm an idiot) is really paper-thin:
as in, an anonymous random fellow with a random sword of ULTIMATE POWAR brings in his dead girlfriend(?) to have her revived by some uber-Jesus, uber-Jesus tells him to goan kill a load of collossi for whatever reason, for great justice and that's about it.
I mean, what are those collossi, and why do they have to die? Story's not really deep or explanatory so far, dunno.
Visuals look good (although not as good as MGS 3, although that was more aimed at smaller environments), but the framerate is highly unstable, with regular drops to 15 or lower (random guess). Whilst that isn't really a problem when you're doing something unimportant, it can get shit when you're trying to figure out how to get on top of one of the collossi.
Furthermore, there really isn't much more to the game than traveling to the next colossus and defeating him, at least so far.
The main character's anonymous and his walking animations look like he's randomly flailing his arms around. Character design isn't really good or original either, although he (assuming it's a he - hard to tell really) does resemble that Link fellow a lot. But oh well.
But outside of that, it's an awesome game. Great music, really good sense of massive scale (at least the Collossi you kill do), and while the main point of the game (hit the boss on a certain spot) isn't really original, the approach to it is very original, at least I haven't seen anything like it yet (as in, really really really big enemies).
I like it, but I can see why it didn't become a big hit. The big audience likes a better story, identifiable main character, and more gameplay thingies besides walking / climbing around and killing a giant monster. I think I read in this thread that they should've added random non-Colossus enemies to the game, and I have to agree to that. It would fill out the game more.
Or they could've went over to the Zelda side and add some puzzles to the game, i.e. make it harder to reach the various colossi. Another thing they could've done is make the game less linear, by giving the player some choice to which colossus to defeat next, optionally (again with the Zelda thingy) giving him new equipment or powarz to help defeat said enemy, with the more difficult enemies requiring a certain powar or piece of equipment to defeat.
But eh. If they'd make a sequel and fix those small things, it would be awesome.
