The 50th anniversary Bond film has an official name now, and started filming Thursday.

In a press conference today it was announced that Daniel Craig would be slipping on the Brioni suit one more time, with director Sam Mendes. The director also revealed a few plot details — specifically, that Skyfall will test the relationship between Bond and M, when her past comes back to haunt the agency. MI6 is under attack and Bond has to destroy the threat. The plot is not tied to any specific work by the Bond author Ian Fleming, and is not directly tied to the already established story arc from Craig's last two films. Judi Dench will be returning as M and Javier Bardem has been cast as the lead villain.

Although it's not a lot of information, everything so far has me quite hopeful that this'll be another good film.

From ten seconds of research she was first M in Goldeneye. So not nearly forever, but a long time.

I still haven't seen the second film Craig did but my understanding was it wasn't nearly as good as Casino so I'm interested to see where this one goes.

Probably something predictable like a scene where Bond jumps out of a plane without a chute and beats the bad guy up, steals his chute and watches baddie die by impalement or shredding or whatnot.

Automated missile defense system gets hijacked. Bond has to stop it. No one knew of its existence because knowing its existence would have led to a Chicken little style panic- Operation Skyfall.

That's my swing at making the title make sense.

I thought this was going to be like the climax of that

in Quantum they found out everything there was to know about the org. and in this I figured Bond would be cleaning house.

Either way, looking forward to it big time. The style and presentation in the trailers is fucking gripping.
