So whats next for FFVII?

anyone have any good news, or details on any new projects SQUARE ENIX is working thats is related directly to the FFVII Series?

Forgive me if i missed the thread, if this was already a topic, as im the nooby here lol! = )

I can't imagine that SQUARE would even think of abandoning FFVII, with such a huge following and petitions going around for a remake.

While at first thought I agree, I wouldn't mind a remake of Before Crisis. A version of the game that, ya know, DOESN'T SUCK!

Release outside of Japan is a necessity, of course.
So at this point they NEED at least one more major addition, specifically the one to finish the story. Then I wouldn't mind remakes for the original game and Before Crisis.
