[TERRA BATTLE] The future of Sakaguchi / Mistwalker

Damn you're fast.

I just finished chapter 7 on my way home, so I'm ready for PvP.

I don't think I'll level all my characters though, since I've got somewhere around 20.
I'll level all my SS class guys no doubt, but I won't bother with the regulars monster allies (C class characters) etc. that you get from the story-missions.
You'll notice that their stat-progression is miniscule compared to the higher class characters, so they won't be of much use in the end-game unless you've got some very specific skill and strategy in mind for them, and companions to power them up further.

You've probably already figures this out, but the metal minions are only really useful for evolving other companions - but I don't think they're worth wasting on low class allies though.

hopefully, we can get together for some team-play and PvP, when the both of us have a clear time-table.
Maybe there even some other people on the forum willing to join, so I'll update the OP and title to reflect the shift of the focus in the thread.

Also, up-coming patch added some really cool looking characters :

Nice catch. Awesome character.
Just did one myself now actually, and I got an A class stonefolk lancer that I can't remember the name of right now.

The game just got patched so there's an increased chance for getting + contracts and higher ranked characters, so for anyone who hasn't started playing this game yet this is a really good time to get started.
You get lots of energy early on in the game, and so going into it now you can take advantage of the increased rates and build a real solid team from the get-go.

Now on chapter 9 myself, which is great because it unlocked the second metal zone, which means that I level up new grunts real fast (the new lancer has a really nice base atk, so I'm guessing he'll be much stronger than my current at lv.30 or so).

After the boss at chapter 7 (the two dragons with the lava fields) chapter 8 was really underwhelming. That being said, I finally have enough stamina to challenge the primordial dragon now, so there's that (although it's a 85 difficulty...).

EDIT :
Had some fun with image editing again :

A second SS class character? Nice!

I have an S class in Sha'plar and a potential Z in Nakupi. He's an A class initially but can be DNA Recoded into a Z class.

Also lovely that you have a useful archer. I kept hoping I'd get one, but alas, have settled for just putting a Silver Bow on Nakupi that he uses as a Companion skill.

This is where my main party is now:

As you can see, they're all pretty hardcore right now, in their third jobs and all at least at LV 65 with those jobs (some of them have gone that far in all three jobs).

I'm in Chapter 26 right now. Even with the power leveling there have been some tough battles here and there. I think they first started getting kind of hard in Chapter 18 and 19, then evened out for Chapter 20, then picked up again, got easy again, etc.

Power leveling totally helps, though that's probably obvious.

There's not much to say about the story here. It's fine, I suppose. Certainly more than you'd expect to get out of a mobile game, but even so, it's basically FFIX Lite. You can tell that Sakaguchi feels like that was his best work.

Anyway, I'm very much enjoying this game. I don't know yet if I'll keep playing it after I finish Chapter 30 (that's supposed to be the end of Part 1; I know there's a Part 2 in development, but it's only up to Chapter 34), but I probably will.

I just drew the best shield in the game from the Companions of Truth: Shield of Genji. It's the only SS Class shield in the game (so far), and though I would have probably picked the Bow of Genji had I been offered a direct choice between the two, I'm happy with this.

Though it helps that I also drew the Black Cane, which will be quite fearsome wielded by Sha'plar. :monster:

Just finished Chapter 31. What an absolute nightmare. The hardest of everything that came in the first 30 chapters did nothing to prepare me for just how difficult every single fight in Chapter 31 is -- starting right from the very first battle!

Just so freakin' glad that's over.

Christ, I just had a boss battle in Chapter 32 last 88 minutes -- on the occasion of my victory. That's not all my attempts combined, just the one that finally proved successful. And this is with a nearly maxed-out team (i.e. all are almost to LV 90 in Job 3).

Sakaguchi's really outdone himself with this game. It's challenging, but still feels fun and rewarding despite the story being pretty middle of the road.

I think I've pretty much got all I can get out of this game. My seven favorites are maxed out at LV 90 in Job 3, and the optional superbosses (Shin'en and Mutoh) are so absurdly powerful that my team could never hope to topple them. It wouldn't be worth the investment it would take to make that happen, so I reckon it's time to give all my mobile game time to "Pokémon GO."
