Hey thar, I was looking to get some practice in, so if you want I'll have a go at some Tifa/Kain fanart. Tifa isn't a problem, but trying to find good images of Kain is difficult. Does he ever wear anything other than all that armour?

Octo, fanart by you would be epic. <3 I think there's a few images of Kain in his alt outfits from Duodecim. I'll try to find some. Or you can draw him in casual clothes if you like. I wouldn't be against any of it.

I've done a tiny bit of shading, but it's nowhere near as defined as on Tifa, I've also got to sort Tifas hair out and give her that 'just-stepped-out-of-the salon shine'

I want to do something with the background too but I dont know what yet, probably go for something abstract and vague. Also I don't think Kain looks Kain-like enough, I'm not that familiar with the character, but from the reference pics he seems to have that icy glare thing going on. I think I've made him look too cute/cheerful. Of course if people like him that way, who am I to argue?

Don't think Icy glare. Think 'trying to hard to be stoic.'

He- and Cecil, too- has this whole 'I must act as expected of a Knight of Baron' thing going, and Kain takes it super serious for several reasons, both to uphold the honor of the Dragoons, and to make up for his own past failings.

Huh- Take Cecil's doubt and Kain's guilt complex, you've built yourself a Cloud. Ironic then, that they were both going after a woman Tifa is very much like.

Ahh...that sounds a bit like Tseng!

That helps Ryu, the reference pics I found made him out to be the silent knight type. I'm glad he's got more humanity too him than that.
