I. Hate. This. Game.
Everything I've read about it says it's an amazing game.
I hate it.
Why is Link on the train?
These dungeons are WAY too easy and the only time I have trouble at all is when I tap the things I want Link to do and he just sits there like a tard.

Seriously. This game sucks..... >:(

I mean Phantom Hourglass was okay and I didn't hate Wind Waker either.
But this one makes me die slowly inside.
I'm not even sure why I hate it so much.
But I'll try to finish it anway.
I've beaten 3 out of the 4 temples. They pretend there's 8 temples because you have to keep going back into the same tower on different floors between dungeons though. :/

Hrm, I haven't played this but since I was pretty disappointed in Phantom Hourglass I don't think this will be my cup of tea. /: (btw I haven't even finished PH....if I have to go to the Temple of The Ocean King again I swear i'll fucking blow up)

Maybe part of the reason you hate it is because you have to to go to the same temple over, and over, and over. It's bullshit. But, is there anything desirable about ST or should I just save my money?

Well it's not so bad in PT because there's no time limit and you only visit each section of the temple once so it's like it's a new temple each time. There's no repeating the same puzzle 50 times

I mean the music is pretty good and some of the scenery is nice. I like the interaction between Zelda and Link but there's such a big deal about her actually doing stuff but she only does stuff in the Spirit Temple and then it's annoying because you have to manually direct her to go everywhere.

And like there's some people from WW and PH that are still alive which means they must be over 100 years old. :/

But whatevs. I just hate the train. That's so not Zelda-ish. :/
I think if someone you know has it you could borrow it.

I'm a big fan of the Zelda series in general but I've never had any desire to play Spirit Tracks. I did play Phantom Hourglass, and it was alright overall, but I hated the temple you had to keep repeating and I think a lot of the appeal depended on the novelty of the touch screen stuff. Like, the actual puzzles were easy and I don't remember any of the tools being particularly interesting/new. From what I've heard of it, even with lots of people praising it, ST didn't strike me as different enough from PH to try it out. I guess I'm just disappointed since it seems like the PH/ST style (I don't mean the art style, which is fine - it's more the general sort of feel of the games), which I'm not crazy about, is the closest to 2-D Zelda we're going to get - I really wish they'd go back to the A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, or even Minish Cap styles.

Plus, I'm still weirded out by trains in a Zelda game. :monster:

Yeah. In Phantom Hourglass I liked some of the characters, but the only time I got thrown off on how to finish the game was when I had to blow into the microphone or something because I'm not used to that being an option.
ST has me doing that CONSTANTLY as the first weapon and the instrument that Link plays both require me to blow into the microphone like an idiot. :/ Does not want.

Train = fail. It's just not Zelda. It's just not. T_T

That is a very strange gameplay design. Not for use in public. Makes you feel like an ass enough in private.

I haven't played this game, but I've been looking for a Zelda game to play so I'm glad you posted. I'm thinking of Twilight Princess for the Wii. I haven't played a recent Zelda game.

I absolutely love Twilight Princess. <3
I don't care either way if it's on the Wii or Gamecube. Wii makes aiming easier though. 8D

Because while flailing my arm around to swing my sword is fun for about an hour, the game is 40 hours and I longed for just a damn button. And so I borrowed my friend's GC copy and had much more fun. The controller is also infinitely more precise for doing the special moves.

And Link is left-handed dammit

I tried playing it on gamecube after the wii briefly but I kept getting confused because everything was flipped.
Honestly though I'm not sure why they had to do that. I mean, I don't care if I wave my right hand and his left hand moves. Seriously.

And if you need a button to press just go in to wolfy form and mash a. :D

oh interesting. Because I still have my GameCube controller. The wii plays GC games, so I could buy that version instead. Hmm. I'll have to think about this.

What do you mean flipped?

Because Link is left handed, and most people use the Wiimote with their right hand, Nintendo mirrored the entire game when they ported it to the Wii so that Link's swordarm would be on the right.

My vote is, of course, for the Gamecube version.

LOL, hell yes. THIS. Times a thousand. I really don't see the point of the Wii for a game like this, haha. I don't see the point of the Wii in general, mostly xD I prefer it on GC as well, with a controller, the style it was meant to be. BD It's like playing Resident Evil 4 on the Wii... knifing people by swinging the Wii remote is fun for like 5 minutes. Then you're like... okay, where the fuck is my controller, this is sort of moronic. I agree that a controller is more precise, and just more fun. I don't get how the Wii is supposed to make it any better.

Well, I always say the Wii and the DS are not for serious games. Although PS3 had Folklore which...the same. It was fun for 5 minutes, but eventually it got annoying having to whip the controller every 2 seconds.

ForceStealer

Well Folklore was nearly a launch title. Do any PS3 games even use the sixaxis anymore?

...at the risk of sounding like a hypocrite I kinda liked that in Folklore. Though it was a lot less motion involved. You just flick it up. Now the doing it for the bosses sucked ass. Where you'd be jerking off the controller for like 45 seconds, blegh.

Yeah, TP is great! I say go with the Gamecube version, if you have the option. I've played a bit of the Wii version but I found the motion controlled sword to be awkward, though it was after I had played through the GC version and so I was also majorly thrown off by the fact that whole game was mirrored.

Honestly I don't think it'll effect your gaming experience either way. It's a great game. The Wii is fine if you're used to it, though TP is the only game I really PLAY on the wii and it makes aiming your bow and things like that a tad easier imo.
BUT Gamecubes are awesomely indestructible creations of GOD. So yeah if you wanna go with that do it. :D

Well I liked Folklore, but I got bored with the control-flicking. Maybe I'll go with the GC version. It's funny because the wii was designed specifically for that, but people don't like it. It works for other games though, like Wii Sports is fun. It doesn't work for RPG games I guess.

ForceStealer

Well, Twilight Princess was also developed FOR the Gamecube and it was ported to the Wii because it was so close to its release. So that might have something to do with it too. Maybe.

Well it's just pointless in games where you could easily play the game without it and not lose any experience. It's not that it's a horrible thing it's just there's nothing gained by it so people think it's pointless.

Well I played Crystal Bearers, and the controlling didn't bother me all that much. It's not constant though, and you don't have to make big motions to make it work, so that could be it. It's weird that Crystal Bearers didn't bother me, but Folklore did, lol.

I remember seeing something a while back where they said they improved the swinging motion for games that use swords and such.

Yeah, I think this is the main issue for TP on the Wii - it wasn't initially developed with motion control in mind. I'm looking forward to seeing how the controls'll be in Skyward Sword, especially with the Wii MotionPlus thing; from the coverage so far I'm expecting it to be good, but I just hope it doesn't fall into the slightly gimmicky sort of feel that PH had. Like, motion control can work well but, IMO, it in itself doesn't necessarily bring in anything new - it's the new items and dungeon design that should be really interesting. Also, Skyward Sword better be a lot harder than TP - the low difficulty was the only major issue I had with that game.
