I managed to listen to about an hour of this while I was working earlier (I started to daydream about what the Trail of Blood section will be like in the remake and decided I better knock it off :P ) and I'm about to listen to the rest while I make dinner. Very entertaining, I look forward to going back through the rest of the series.

Oh - and whoever said the 'boil them, mash them, stick them in stew' line made me laugh and inhale a lungful of hot coffee...but it was so worth it :D

Ryu's audio quality is unusually low this time. What happened? o.O

Also, nitpick: No mentioning of the EU release date in the beginning :P
I figured you left them out for previous games because the EU received those way after, but with FFVII being the first main game officially released here I thought it would've been worth mentioning :comedian:

Answer to the Question:

There are some obvious answers:

Phoenix + Final Attack
Quad Magic + Bahamut Zero

But these are everybody's favorite options, so allow me to offer a few fun ones that I use:

Sneak Attack + KOTR (Because I like to think that Cloud, when startled, will powderize first, and ask questions later).

HP Absorb + KOTR (Learned about this one this playthrough when I fought Emerald Weapon. Combining it with Mime makes you basically invincible).

Added Effect + Hades (When added to your armor it's the next best thing to a Ribbon. Attack and it's like you've got the FF8 spell "Pain" equipped to your weapon).

Finally have the chance to give this a listen. I'm about 20 minutes in, where you're talking about the CPR mini game.

Recording from a different location, and I had to deal with a less benign recording location and a pair of dogs.

That's not a nice thing to call Vader and me. :monster:

I'd never call you two dogs. For one, you're nowhere near as cute as Belle and Winston. And much less well trained, to boot.
