I want to nominate the scene in AC/ACC when Sephiroth appears, describes his plan to use the planet as a vessel and summons the Negative Lifestream to cover the sky over Midgar.

Not only gives a feeling of "Fuck! We're screwed!", but it's also subtle and classy way to show us Sephiroth's power without falling in exageration and without turning the battle into something à la DBZ.

I'd like to nominate, very specifically, the 'death' of the digital mind wave during Zack's last stand. They used a device in a battle system to convey human emotions and experiences. I thought it was incredibly upsetting and moving. But maybe this won't count if it's included in the larger event of Zack's death.

I nominate the flashback fight of Cloud and Sephiroth against the green dragon.

This was your first real introduction to Sephiroth and it firmly established his badassitude. The music also lent itself perfectly for the stunned silence that you had after Sephiroth practically oneshotted it.

Race Driver has the event where Vincent tells of his relationship to Lucrecia and how she was Sephiroth's mother.

Itsuki Koizumi has the Cloud Cross-Dressing escapade in Wall Market.

Tetsujin has the final battle between Cloud and Sephiroth in the spirit world.

Smaddy has the firing of the Sister Ray while it's hooked up to Midgar, killing Diamond WEAPON and shattering Sephiroth's barrier.

Quexinos has the newly done fight scene between Cloud and Sephiroth in ACC.

Dark and Divine has Sephiroth's Reunion and revival in AC/ACC.

LicoriceAllSorts has Zack's DMW destruction during the final confrontation in CC.

ShikamaruNara has the Kalm Flashback battle with Cloud and Sephiroth, where they fought the green dragon.​

Well that makes sense, but we've already gotten this far, and in the end it's gonna be a run off for the single most memorable event so, it wouldn't end with just a neat number 7 anyways.

I'm going to come wade in with my idea The scene where Dyne commits suicide was one of the most memorable for me. Proved that the second rate characters like Barret could carry a backstory that was more emotionally touching than the main characters. It also happened to be really well written imo.

There's one more like that... It's a shame that there are other memorable events that might not be nominated before we hit 20. I have a feeling that they'd be quite popular in the poll - if only they'd made it in the first place...

Other than Aerith's death this is the only scene that consistently hits me.

Also, Mako, I think you should add the taken scenes like you just did to the first post.

I'd like to note that I mentioned all of those I even thought of Dyne, just cba to post it because I didn't think anyone would agree. SO. With that said...

I'd like to nominate the launch into space - there's no part of this that isn't really well done, from fighting your way through the Shinra troops, to Cid panicking about Shera at launch time, to the time limit to getting the Huge Materia...even the escape pod sequence, with the characters hearing Cid wax philosophical as they float about; all incredibly memorable as a whole.

But I'm a Cid fan, so...

I also very nearly did Vincent's phone call with Cloud, Barret, and Tifa in Dirge of Cerberus if that interests anyone. One of my favorite scenes, certainly in that game but even in the whole scheme of the Compilation plot and DC is sure to be underrepresented.
