Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy/Curtain Call

Jump Festa 2012 trailer.

Nothing especially exciting. Doesn't seem to be happening a whole lot in the background for much of the rhythm segments. Just the character walking. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about playing a rhythm game while Aeris' death scene plays in the background. =/
Am I supposed to feel like this is heracy?

Also, I request that this thread be moved to the parent forum, Sub-Final Fantasy. I had trouble finding this thread because I didn't expect it to be in the Dissidia forum.

"It's that time again!"

"To read Ryu's latest trollpost?"

"To laugh at the newest entries in the Members Pictures thread?"

"No, it's time for the announcement of which characters have been revealed for the game. And the new inductees to the cast this week are..."

OMG I just watched the trailer with all the CG moments at the end and I REALLY WANT THIS. I wish like hell it wasn't for the shitendo. Rage.

Ok, so according to this guy, you don't do anything in this tie-in promotional facebook/twitter game. The game plays itself.

...Can somebody confirm this, to check that the author of the article isn't just exaggerating?

After battling through all the other bosses—and leveling up for several hours—you reach the oddest thing in this game: a tonberry with the face of Ryota Yamazato—one half of the popular Japanese comedy duo, Nankai Candies. Watching him make weird faces is your only reward for playing this game (well, and being entered in a drawing to win a free 3DS).

This game is fun. Glad there's harder modes because I was aceing the regular one right away. :P

Sucks it'll take a while before I start unlocking characters, but any party is the most adorable thing ever so <3

I was supposed to get this game in the mail today but they apparently sent it to the wrong facility :(

Hopefully by tomorrow though, it's only in manhattan

EDIT: WAIT IS THERE MAIL ON 4TH OF JULY?? OH NOOOO

I would get this game and report on its FFVII content if not for the fact that 3D is always blurry to me. I see the 3D effect but the two images do not mesh together. So getting a 3DS, even with the option to shut off the 3D effect, would be pointless and limit me from buying other games.

So while this isn't exactly news, I thought I'd post a news update with the VII related Gameplay, bringing together the various YouTube playthroughs I've found.

In keeping with our new standard of creating a forum thread for every newspost (and then linking to it in said newspost... oops, will update when I've posted this) I've decided to post this in the general Theatrhythm thread since it doesn't exactly warrant an entirely new thread on it's own:

As most of you will know by now, Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy is a Nintendo 3DS title that brings back favourite musical pieces from each Final Fantasy game. Using the stylus, the player taps and moves to the beat as shown on the input screen. Below are the VII related videos for your viewing pleasure.

YouTube user "ChrisRikesToPray" uploaded the full Final Fantasy VII segment in his Theatrhythm Let's Play/ Walkthrough.

Another YouTube user, "RedGamerPanda" has also uploaded the entire VII segment, however he has also recorded both of the 3DS's screens.

Songs included in the game are "Prelude", "Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII", "Aerith's Theme", "One Winged Angel" and "Staff Roll". Downloadable content may expand on the small collection of VII songs already packaged in-game.

The following are links to individual videos of the songs' gameplay as recorded by YouTube user "AyaAnnyGaming"

Prelude
Main Theme of FFVII
Aerith's Theme
One Winged Angel
Staff Roll

Also. I was going to post "actually, it's the ONLY reason I want a 3DS" but that would be a lie. The 3DS has Zelda :(.

I know many people liked it, but I'll show my emotion with the next word: Meh.

I mean, if people like it, it's all good. I think I could come to like it as well! But while they use resources on this, more exciting things are taking more time.

Actually, that's not really how it works. Dedicated teams are set up for these kinds of things. If it's a port, I can guarantee it was handled by someone other than SE.
