Guys I don't mean to sound pessimistic but... how can we watch most of these films if most streaming sites have been well... confiscated by the US government? = (

Bittorrent is your friend, especially considering the Swedish pirate party intends to host TPB at the Swedish parliament, so it's protected by laws there, :monster:.

Yeah, I was thinking people would watch the film in their own time (as per Alex's suggestion in the original thread), and getting it however they see fit.

Soooo, when does the poll close? :awesome: bump.

I would have closed it a bit earlier but I was waiting for a definite winner and not a tie. Which we seem to have now :awesome:

So I'll either close it tonight or tomorrow and we'll go with the leading film, starting over the weekend? (Gran Torino at the moment)

How do people feel about taking the runners up (City of God and Shutter Island) and using those for the following weeks films? Or would you rather go through another vote?

I think we should go through another vote, but throw the runner ups in there as choices, and do that each week :monster:

Yeah sounds good, I've already seen Shutter Island though, so my vote obviously swings towards City of God.

Not that I'd shy away from watching Shutter Island again, that film has a lot of stuff (both good and bad) to talk about.

So the second place film(s) gets automatically carried over to the next week's vote, y/n?

I was thinking the timetable would go like this:

Next Sat~Fri: Give people the time to watch this week's film, and voting for the following week's film

Following week: Discuss this week's film, watch the film that's just been selected, voting for the next film

And so on.

Looks fine or no?

After not bothering to close this last night, I wake this morning to find another tie between Gran Torino and City of God.

I'll close this at 12pm GMT (in 4 hours from this post) just in case someone decides to break this tie. Otherwise go with the last definite results (Gran Torino this week, City of God and Shutter Island carried over to the next) unless there's any objections.

We'll just go with that and I'll go start a thread for week 2 :monster:

Keeping this thread for any other week 1 pre-viewing discussion, then starting a new one when everyone's seen it to discuss the film proper: y/n?

I'm going to sit down and watch it after I finish my next RP post which should be either tonight or tomorrow depending on the amount of collaboration I need with everyone else.

Funnily enough I have it on DVD

Just wasn't in the mood to watch it when I got it at the time.

I suppose it's just an effect from watching Million Dollar Baby :monster:
