This one was easy for me. While I really like just about all the songs here Those Chosen by the Planet makes for such wonderfully foreboding atmosphere that I can't not choose it.

I would vote for cids theme, but theres another version of it that i like later called Sending a Dream into the Universe. So cosmo canyon gets my vote

Ahhg...these polls are so hard, Those Chosen by the Planet is a great haunting theme, but Cosmo Canyon is one of favorite spots in the game partially due to its theme. And The Great Warrior scene in the game I actually got choked up on...guess I'll go with The Great Warrior.

Well, another difficult decision to make. The Great Warrior brings up some pretty strong emotions, but I also really like Cosmo Canyon, Those Chosen by the Planet, The Nightmare Begins, Cid's Theme, and Steal the Tiny Bronco...dammit, why couldn't this one be as easy as the last round?

Gonna give it to The Great Warrior.

I voted "LifeStream". I just like the peaceful sound to it. Quite fitting of the scenery. Something you could float off into space to. Would love to hear an orchestral version of it.

Coming second is "The Nightmare begins", but it is not my favourite version of FFVIII's Extreme . In third, "those Chosen by the planet" sounds awefully like a song in FFV. I recognise a few signature chords in my playthrough. They are good, so I have no issue in their reuse.

Y'know, I'm ok with my accidental vote. Those Chosen will have a ton of votes, and since I actually like Descendant of Shinobi and don't expect it to get many votes I can at least take comfort in having gotten it one

Went with Stolen Materia, because it's a nice catchy song and it suits Yuffie's personality and sneaky cunning plans to get the materia from Cloud so well. c:

It was a toss up between Those Chosen by the Planet (Sephiroth's theme before they started milking OWA), The Great Warrior (saddest moment in the game) and LifeStream (puts everything into perspective).

I'm giving it to The Great Warrior, since it has more depth.

That decision was AGONIZING.

Cosmo Canyon, Lifestream, Great Warrior and The Nightmare Begins are among my absolute favourites in the soundtrack. What I can't work out now is whether I like the originals or remixes/ orchestrated versions I've heard since then.

Narrowed it down to Lifestream/Great Warrior. Went with Great Warrior coz it's totes emosh.

It has to be Great Warrior this time - no tactical voting as it's not guaranteed to go through yet.

It's impossible for me to listen to it without thinking about what happens in the game between Nanaki and Seto, but it is a great piece of music even without that. The gentle opening, the beautiful harp & string middle, the pride-swelling flute and softened taiko drum, and then... a reprise of the Cosmo Canyon melody, which is also wonderful.

I feel like I use too many superlatives, but hey, it's a great song!

What I do know about this poll is which song I'm not going to choose, and that is the Wutai one, it drove me insane

I thought this was going to be easy, because the first time I heard Cosmo Canyon my jaw dropped, it was so awesome. But then Cid's Theme and Those Chosen by the Planet had to be in the same poll! Nnnoooo!!!

But I had to go for Cosmo Canyon. I couldn't not go for that one.

I love Those Chosen by the Planet, great ambience.

When I hear it I just imagine the scene before the Nibelheim incident, in the basement, the turning point of Sephiroth.
