One-Winged Angel is a great piece of music (I especially love that Uematsu was inspired by Jimi Hendrix for the opening), but I don't quite feel the same way I do about it as with "Sending a Dream Into the Universe". When you first hear it, as a player, you are already very familiar with Cid's Theme, and that's why it works so well. It really makes you appreciate both Cid and Shera, and what they went through - Cid's failed dreams of going into space, Shera's feeling that she ruined things for him - and the relationship between them. Despite all the abuse that he gives her, Cid really does care about Shera, and of course everything she does is because she cares about him. It's touching.

Overexposed though it might be, I gotta vote One Winged Angel. Can't help it, I love that song.

fuuuu meant to vote for Birth of a God but accidentally chose Jenova Absolute - which I love just as much but I feel like Birth of a God always gets overshadowed by OWA and it deserves so much more love.

Like people said, this one's a close-call. The end-game battle themes are all outstanding pieces. Ask me five years ago and I would've said OWA, but Squenix have cheapened its legacy by making it Sephiroth's official theme tune, when it was supposed to be a one-off track for the final battle. So I'll give it to the next best thing in Birth of a God.
Btw, am I only the one who likes Hurry Faster? It doesn't appear to have much love on the netz.

I love Sending a Dream into the Universe. I love World Crisis' range of emotion as well. So lovely. But I went with One Winged Angel.
At first, I didn't want to for a couple reasons. I figure it would get a lot of votes, and also I wanted to be hipster and not vote for what I thought would be the popular one. But I went with it because it really is a great song, and at the time of the game (which I feel is what I'm basing my choices on), it was new and not overdone or shoved down our throats. It became popular for a reason - because it's a damn good song.

Same here, I can't even vote tactically for another song in this poll, it really is a good song. Heck, I even heard this song before I even became aware of the Final Fantasy franchise itself.

Haha, I was going through the songs one by one, and then I realised it was pointless when I saw what was near the end. Over exposure and such has dimmed its effect, but I try and remember what it was like when I first heard it, and my feelings for it were far better than the other songs on this list: "One-winged Angel".

Ugh, that's hard. Jenova Absolute is great, so is Birth of a God and One-Winged Angel. That whole final-battle sequence is an auditory orgasm. And then followed by World Crisis? Damn.
I think I'm gonna have to go Judgement Day, I gushed about it before in the 30 day meme and my final dungeon retrospective. It's just such a determined song, I get focused every time I hear it.
