UNCHARTED 3: DRAKES DECEPTION

ForceStealer

Double Growth
I love the ship scenario, it's amazing they way everything reacts to the movement, the natural progression of the technology used in 2's train sequence. And then when the boat capsizes and all the rooms are turned? Great stuff. But that first part in the cargo hold is freakin torture, even when I know where all the guys are.

Those guys are assholes. Took me several attempts to beat them, and when I did, part of it was luck.

One of the
djinn
was near a couple others. As he was about to throw a grenade, I killed him. The grenade fell to the ground and went off in the midst of them.

After trying a million ideas, generally focused on RPGs, I tried the Tbolt sniper and took my time to get headshots, two a piece took them down. It was tricky, but doable to get 2, I'm afraid on hard it will take more than that.

I think, in the end, I beat them with a bit of luck too. I tried different things as well but what I ended up doing was running around like mad, picking up whatever I could find and use it.

I only played Hard difficulty in 2 to unlock crushing for the platinum. In 3 playing through on Normal unlocks crushing, which tbh I don't find much harder than hard. Both hard and crushing are frustratingly difficult in some places.

It gets a bit easier if you try to focus on stealth. There are certain areas where if you kill like the 4 visible enemies using stealth no more turn up so some really hard sections end up being easy. Whereas if you fire one bullet you're pretty much stuck behind cover slowly picking off about 30 baddies :monster:

You know what, reading that made a lot of sense to me. That airplane hangar thingy right before you jump on the big plane, I had so many problems with that place both on Easy and Normal. On Hard, I took out 3 enemies silently and the rest was peachy. There was still two helmies, an RPG dude and a few snipers, and a lot of 'bullet servants' as I like to call them :P but I don't think there were more guys than on Normal.

Also, is Alternate Aim Settings really auto-aim? Does anyone know what that option really does?

Sorry I'm just seeing this now. Regarding alternate aim settings:

When the game was originally released there were complaints about the aiming - there's a certain direction you can try to move the camera in that doesn't quite work properly.

Alternate aim settings was a patch released by Naughty Dog so that when you aim the camera moves in the same speed on both the X and Y axis - they just left the original aim settings in incase anyone got too used to it. It's also supposed to be smoother, faster and an all-round better aiming experience, but I haven't really used it so can't confirm to be honest. I only know because I went through a phase of being on the Naughty Dog forums and people went nuts over the original aiming so they released the patch.

Oh right; iirc BF3 or CoD or some game like that for PC was criticized heavily for having different horizontal and vertical sensitivity settings because it was a console port, or something.

I just checked what it does in Uncharted 3 - basically, if you move R3 in a circular motion with the original settings on, it kind of gives you a square. If you do the same with alternate aim settings, it gives you an oval. Also it only saves "alternate aim settings" as your preference if you're in the game and then hit a checkpoint or save, it won't stick if you do it from the main menu (it'll disappear after that play session).

Finished the game on hard mode, for some reason I found normal more harder. Gonna try my hand on Crushing tomorrow, I expect there will flying controllers, screaming at t.v, curse words in both Spanish and English and well a lot of frustration.

Finished the game on Crushing. :neo: The controller and game were in danger of being destroyed a few times though.

Btw we should do some multiplayer one of these days.

Avec, it's really not as hard as it seems, you should try it. Some parts can be a little frustrating but it's just about keeping in cover as much as possible.

I don't know if I'll be able to make next Friday, since that's the day of my final exam I can see people wanting a goodbye drinking session of extreme joy.
