Unwatchable Youtube Vids- The Modern Youtube Poop

So, there's a trend lately in Youtube (well I say lately but it's been around since they increased the limit to 10 hours), to create absurdist videos designed specifically to provide absolutely no entertainment value, or at least entertainment for about 10 seconds and then an obscene amount of unwatched video.

There's some offshoots to these such as the very short

Spoiler: Guy from Smash Mouth says SomeBODY 268,435,456 times (in 39 seconds)

And "thing gets faster every time X" category such as

Spoiler: The entire bee movie but every time they say bee it gets faster (7:03)

But the main one I'm seeing a lot lately is the "replaced with" stuff. Case in point

This kind of fascinates me in a way because you might call it an example of modern Dadaism... or just mindless trolling that gets views on an absurdist level. I'm not certain what makes these videos so fascinating, but they are, at least to me.

Youtube is a fascinating place, where stupid shit like unboxings are popular, so nothing surprises me.

This bleeds over into a trend of hacking into videogames and injecting them with...nonsense. This, for example, is the original Sonic the Hedgehog but with voice-acting from Sonic Boom.

Freybs watches let's plays of Zelda and stuff, and we watch how stuff gets made. And also those 'science' videos where people explode stuff in slow motion or melt shit with heatguns

There was a kid on the bus the other day watching videos of someone opening toys and kinder eggs. Thats why those channels get so many views. Kids. Look at the view counts on minecraft or cartoons. Stupid fucking kids.

With the presence of a 14-year-old sister in my household, I can confirm Youtubers are the thing for kids and teens - nearly her entire year group at school is the same. Ever seen that South Park episode with PewDiePie - captures things far too well.
