Heinous.He was a derp
The 6 month ban is BS; we banned his original account temporarily, probably for a few months, I can't remember, but since then he's just been keeping making dupes. And while we're lenient on duplicate accounts, creating one to circumvent a ban is not a valid reason and will only increase the ban duration.
So the solution, then, is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results? Why should the mods here go through the stress of not knowing when Username might rubberband back to being abusive, when they can just do away with him
A wise fictional AI once said, "the best solution to a problem is usually the easiest one".
So the solution, then, is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results?
This is exactly why he hasn't been unbanned and won't be unbanned as long as he continues making dupe accounts. Not to mention that the fact that he made another dupe account to post a plea about how he had changed was in itself breaking the rules. Going about telling us how much you've changed by breaking the rules to do so is not giving us a good first impression. However, the problem is that if he stayed away and then came back and made this post, there might be room to consider that he's changed and give him a chance. But in all this time, all he's done is make dupe after dupe and post garbage until he's been banned. So for one day he's gotten himself together and made a post about how he's changed, but his actions suggest otherwise. If he really wants to be let back, maybe he should stay away for a few months and try again, instead of making 9001 dupes in between his coherent moments.
Here's the thing. I sort of agree with Kimble, and I have sympathy enough to give someone a chance. How will people change if we don't give them the opportunity to change? Assuming username really wants to or has changed, wouldn't we want to encourage that? If you treat his good behavior the same as his bad behavior, then what's the point in him being good. I'm a great believer in reinforcing good behavior.

We have no reason at all, to take a leap of faith and go against the perceptual trend of his past behaviors. Namely, he's just saying anything to get his way.

The thing is, we've already done this several times. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.I'd rather give someone a chance and be wrong then not give someone a chance and be wrong.
Several. Many of us have our AIM/MSN/Skype addresses listed publicly, there is a contact us form at the bottom, and there are probably other things I'm also forgetting. Is there a way for banned members to contact staff?

You forgot Tethar Atrum.DLPB? Hachinamie? NeoBahamut? Nikkolas? Words of Ivory?
Staff already told him a long time ago that if he stopped making dupe accounts it would greatly increase his chances of getting unbanned. He continues to make several dupes per month. So no, he's already had that chance, and he wasted it.So you're saying that if he left for a few months and then wanted to come back, you'd be at least moderately okay with it?
...exactly the way he said in his own OP before being denied the chance?
That seems like doubletalk to me.
