Liam O'Brien was apparently told to mimic Sean Connery when voicing Nanaki, so I think it'd be cool if they got the actual Sean Connery to voice him.

.....What? Seriously? Are we talking about the same guy who, in his younger years, starred as the first James Bond and had been in the movie "The League of Extrordinarery Gentlemen"?

I seriously doubt he'd want to join the Final Fantasy casting. I mean, come on, no offence, but that's seriously not happening.

Besides, the only movie I liked him in was the "League" movie. Never liked James Bond to begin with. My mother's a fan of Sean Connery, though.

I'm really curious as to how President Shinra will sound. Does anyone have any preference as to how they imagine him sounding?

I really like his voice in the machinabridged series

Eh, Red's voice was already Kain and Caius, and only had one line anyway. I can live with him changing. Dude has range though, so I'm sure it'd be fine if he didn't change, either. Not sure that I anticipated him having a British accent though.

AND he voiced Kovu in the Lion King 2?!!? Holy mother, I never noticed!! And I'm usually pretty good at picking up voices.

As far as VA's go, I really can't wait to hear Steve Burton voice Cloud again, because this is going to be such a different Cloud than any that he's voiced so far.

God, I hope they make him record lines doing a very bad falsetto--I think I might die.

I love Jason Marsden. He always did a good job with Disney. I loved his voice for Max in the Goofy movies as well.

That said, Liam O'Brien is one of my favorite VAs, so I hope he's in this regardless. I'll be surprised if Yuri Lowenthal doesn't end up voicing someone in this, as he's one of the most prolific VAs in the industry, and does a very good job IMO. Other cool VAs I'm hoping for are Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Matthew Mercer, Keith David, Phil Lamarr, Nolan North, Troy Baker, Tim Curry, Wil Wheaton, and John DiMaggio.

That is very interesting! Getting the real Sean Connery to voice Nanaki is probably unlikely, but still fun to think about! xD I'm not really sure how I imagined Nanaki's voice.... I kinda liked the British accent.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE John DiMaggio. I loved him as Wakka and also as Bender from Futurama! Wil Wheaton would be an interesting choice. Hahaha, he was awesome in The Guild series. I didn't realize he did VA work. Probably because I didn't watch anything he was in!

I enjoyed Nanaki's accent, but when I went back and replayed the game recently, I imagined him sounding a lot...younger, I guess? Like, with a sense of dignity but still a little naive. He is developmentally a teenager, after all.

Noel/Jason Marsden was a lot of things from my childhood

...mostly weird TGIF/Canadian shows but one that'll ring other bells to you is he was also Haku is Spirited Away

Yes!! That's where I recognize him! He was Haku! And a ton of NPCs in Skyrim!

I though Nanaki's voice in AC was decent, but I do imagine him to sound younger to better befit his age in his species' years. British accent isn't what I imagine though; I'm think a good accent would be something that's more 'rough', so to say, to match with his beast appearance.

I definitely imagine him as quite young-sounding as well, with a kind of well-spoken accent? Like I picture him enunciating really carefully, which was what I thought was good about his AC voice, he spoke (his one line) quite slowly and carefully and that works, cos it almost makes it seem like he's not that used to talking.

Oh look, Jason Marsden talk. Love Jason Marsden. He can sound so sharp and confident, it's great. Fantastic actor. I almost wished they gave him Cloud, instead. haha

On Nanaki's voice, I've always pictured with a voice that's both young and old at the same time. Or at least, young and with a silver tongue. Liam O'Brien could do that, but I find his lower range really forced, and a British accent on Nanaki was also kind of odd as well. Kind of hope they take it a different direction in the remake.

If Racheal Lillis(the original english voice actor of Misty and Jessie in the Pokemon anime) hadn't retired back in 2008, I would've think she would've been the voice for Scarlet for the remake, because I imagine Scarlet to have the evil tone of voice like Jessie of Team Rocket would use(in other words, not her comic relief-self or her temper tantrum comical self, but very evil like, if you know what I mean).

As for Heidegger, I think the guy who voiced Omi from FFX-2 would be the one to voice Heidegger.

I still want the rest(or at least most of them, since Paul and Liam are both out of the picture) to reprise their roles of AVALANCE, Rufus, the Turks and Sephiroth.

Um, you mean have Genesis make an appearence in the Remake at some point? If so, then count me in.

Plus, I love Gackt's song "Redemption" so much that I plan on listening to it again today.

That's weird. Because she wasn't in the anime special's sequel as she played Sunflora, then she didn't return to the Pokemon anime after that. How weird.

And I thought she was older than 37. Maybe she can voice Scarlet, if the english dubbing of Square Enix ask her. But they'll probably pick someone else.

I know that Veronica Taylor is still voice acting, and she was once the voice of Ash Ketchum, his mother Delia and then May in the Pokemon anime up to season 8(stupid dubbing changes, and she's done so well with Ash that she loved voicing him.) and that she also voiced Cosmos in the first two Dissidia games under a different name, and now she voices Sailor Pluto in the english dub of Sailor Moon Crystal.

But we are talking about the voice acting for FFVIIR here.

The tone is there for a woman of power without being overtly shrill. Not to sound pessimist, but, nah, I don't think so. The woman who voiced Arecia wouldn't fit as Scarlet.

No offence, but it kinda sounds like we're asking Terri Hawkes who voiced Serena(Usagi in Japanese)/Sailor Moon in the first two seasons of Sailor Moon to voice Elfe in a(never) remake of Before Crisis.

For Elfe, for her deepish tone, the one who voiced Lightning in the XIII trilogy is the good fit for her, especially how she would speak to Sephiroth in Junon.

I find Scarlet's tone to be more along the lines of Team Rocket's Jessie(reasoning I've described her this is because there's a Jessie in Final Fantasy VII, so, this is far less confusing), due to the tone of her evil laughter.

How about Paula Tiso who voiced Jihl Nabaat from FFXIII or Mary Elizabeth McGlynn who voiced Rosso the Crimson in FFVII: DoC? Could either of those two work for Scarlet?

Hmm...maybe Mary Elizabeth McGlynn(the voice of Rosso) might be the next best person to voice Scarlet. But you never know-they'll most likely pick someone else.

I just hope the rest of the original cast(both in Japanese and in English) of the Compilation of FFVII(well, except Nanaki and Hojo since both will have different actors) will return to repraise their roles of Cloud, his friends, Rufus, the Turks(including Elena) and ect.
