Ways to get people here? Everyone read!

Hey guys! Some of you have been here for a while, and really watched the place took off. Well, we need your help, guys. TLS is kinda lulling, and we're really looking for some ways to pull in the FF7 fans again. Don't be deceived by the age, there are still tons of FF7/Compilation fans out there, and the recent re-release of FF7 for the PSN has boosted that number by the thousands. So they're out there, but how do we get them here?

We have Twitter. We have the Gameplay Help Board (check it out if you haven't already). We have a shitton of translations. So let's put our heads together and think of some ways to get more people here. What's the best way to advertise this place? Let's all put our heads together on this one.

We're affiliated with ff-xiii.net. Also, alot of sites dont use buttons, because they are ugly. Thats why we dont have them. Text links are better.

I think more features would bring in members. FF-XIII.net did a video feature that got featured on kotaku and ps3fanboy. I think that kinda thing would be an awsome feature. We've collected huge amounts of info on here, which alot of people didnt know. If all of that was condensed into a video, it would be really accessable. Ive been looking at after effects, and i think i could knock up an animated version of the sites graphics.

Theres still that idea for a commentary track, if anyone would be interested.

Im gonna be cutting my hours down at work soon, so i'll have time to mess about with stuff like this.

Yeah I have the feeling that this is novel enough to attract at least some attention. rather than just emulating whatever feature has gotten FFXIII-net noticed recently. A group commentary for Advent Children (or more ambitiously FFVII itself) via Skype, would definitely make the site standout.

Say, would it be an idea to expand our coverage with FFVII-related artwork (as in a gallery) and/or fanfiction and/or other such things?

It'd be a bit tricky to integrate it with our other software (if that's possible at all - don't count on it), but it would be neat.

I often direct people who I end up talking to on other forums and Youtube about FFVII towards the Ultimania translations. It was this way that I found these forums in the first place, actually. I was shocked they weren't did when I had a look.

I really like this idea. Not only would it be enjoyable for whoever participated, but it'd make this site a little more unique and interesting to a passer-by.

IIRC it's possible, even if not with Skype in particular, to have users posting text at the same time as other people speaking over microphones. The people on mics can read the text and the people typing can hear those speaking.

Though, sure, it would make things much easier if the commentary was all done speaking.

Especially since we'd have an interesting mix of accents from this site.

It would be cool, hell it would be interesting to actually hear some of your voices. But I think we should definitely start with AC as it will be easier than VII as a starting point in terms of length.

But even other than that, videos that that reference/link to us on youtube at all would be good. I'm not quite sure how we could video-ize our Ultimania stuff short of one of us just talking about it over screenshots or something...but I dunno. (If that's what we did, I nominate hito because not only does he know the most about his translations, everybody loves british accents. )

But just if any of us post videos on youtube related to FF (like those cut cutscenes from FF7 or something) just link to us in the description.

Just as a suggestion but if some of you have face book, use a banner or another form of advertising to get people here. Post a link on your page and invite your friends to join. Infact make a separate fan page for this site and send invites to people in your friends list.

Ive only watched ones with one person which arent really very informative, just a guy saying "ok, going over here... pick up this". It would be awsome to have forum tie in discussions like a podcast. Take suggestions here for discussion topics while commenting on the action. I think that would be awsome.

How much content do you need to create a juicy podcast? I mean TLS only covers content from a small portion of the FF franchise...
