But yeah, I've been neglecting them myself.

You definitely need to look into some of the Coverdale material. Coverdale is no Gillian, but he's still great. I'd suggest at least downloading Burn, and to a lesser extent Stormbringer.

I hear excellent things about Burn from other sources as well. I'll see if I can track it down, as well as the other album you mentioned. I should probably get some of their earlier bluesier stuff too, just to see what it's like.

While we're on the subject of Deep Purple, be sure to check out the Mark II reunion albums from the 80s, Perfect Strangers and House of Blue Light. They're often overlooked, but Perfect Strangers especially is a high quality release.
