What happened to FF's after X?

I think FFs good run ended with FFIX, and a miracle occurred with the production of FFXII. I'm admittedly curious about FFXIII-2 and Versus though, but I'll let you guys buy it first and taste the poison before I pluck up the courage to buy them myself. That is, if they're any good according to your reviews and that of the internets in general .

Well.. uhh everybody is different, and everybody has different tastes and opinions.

Some think that FF12 is the greatest FF ever created, some think that it's okay, and some think that FF12 is crap and is the worst Final Fantasy created.

The same goes with FF13, FF10, FF7, FF8, FF9, FF5, FF3, FF2, FF1, FF4 etc.

Example. I love Final Fantasy 8 and I dislike FF12 while Tiff hates FF8 and she loves FF12.

And FF8 was made when Squaresoft was still around, and they were still company rivals with Enix. Final Fantasy is like drinks, and Final Fantasy 7 is coke, and Final Fantasy 12 is lemonade. Not everybody likes coke, and some people think that lemonade is the best drink ever, while some people think that it tastes horrible.

Just because you dislike ''lemonade " doesn't mean that everybody dislikes ''lemonade ".

Not to mention alot of fans call Final Fantasy V awful and terrible and it has no character development, but Final Fantasy V is my second favourite Final Fantasy game. Though I bet when FFV came out, that fans thought that Square were loosing their technique and the Final Fantasy series was doomed. Everybody is not the same, and we are going to think different things, and enjoy different Final Fantasies, whether Square made them, or Square Enix made them.

Nothing is wrong with the Final Fantasy games expect XIV, the only thing wrong is that it didn't match *your* tastebuds, though some fans out there are happy and are enjoying FF XII and FF XIII, they just didn't match your style, but that can happen to any Final Fantasy young or old. We are not all going to like every single FF that's ever created, one or two along the way, we are going to plain out dislike.

ffXII was a great game, it might not be the best ff game but I did enjoy it, and the characters were the main reason I liked it so much, and the free roam was amazing.

ff13 I can see where people would really dislike it, myself included, but I can see some positives to it. Well I just hope the sequel will clean up shop, and the trailers so far have been promising(but then again that's what i said about XIII ;

well I hadn't played any mmos at the time it was my first one, but I can see why you had to rely on the community a LOT to get anything done, and of course there were other flaws too.

No. It isn't that their style is different, it's that it's partially the same and otherwise omits crucial aspects of the game. FFXII had the backstory, sense of freedom, epic scale, statistic depth and stellar use of technology... FFXIII had the emotion, sense of purpose, pacing, combat and the right machine to run on, but they shared nothing in common.

The best FF games have all of these things.

They.... Evolved? If I see another topic like this I might kill myself.
If you don't like them deal with it, there are still people who likes Post-FFX games. This coming from a person who's favorite game was X. I'm not just as close minded as people who say this kind of stuff. And if you excuse me Final Fantasy Type 0 is an excellent game, XIII was too lineal but it had tons of Pro's that none of the previous games had.
This is just me.
