That and ruining everybody's life for no reason other than its in the name of science.Frankly I think he gets a kick out of using science for an excuse of his perverse sadism.

I actually think at times Hojo makes a list of how he is going to make the world even more miserable in the name of science.

A GCSE in Biology would have told him that a) you can't crossbreed a human with a dog-lion thingy, and b) even if you can, all you end up with is a hybrid. You don't save either species.

Well things in the FFVII world don't quite work the way they do in the real world, so who's to say that those rules still aplly in the FFVII world? Maybe on Gaia, they CAN crossbreed a half-Cetra with a dog-lion thingy and manage to save the species in doing so.
P.S. You referred to Aerith as a human in your poast, when in fact, she is half human half Cetra, so I fixed it.

This is why Mr.Hojo should have been in an aslyum instead of the head of the Shinra's Science Department.Then again when did Shinra ever care about ethics or boundtraries.

Although I would curious what a child born of cetra descent and jenova's cells would turn out.I still think that maybe Hojo could have gone with the idea of taking Sephiroth's sperm by drugging him and then impregnating Aerith artificially.I think Hojo would grudgely do it under the order of the president who wants another sucess like Sephiroth so he orders him to make a child that this time of Sephiroth and Aerith.

President Shinra might not care as much as Hojo about Aerith being a half breed but he probably would be intersted in having a child who has both Sephiroth and Aerith's traits given to them.

Having Sephiroth and Aerith being former lovers would have made the storyline a lot more exciting since there's a lot more intensity to her death then...but I don't think it would have improved the story that they were trying to make. This story wasn't about Aerith or Sephiroth. Having a link between the two of them would have taken the attention off Cloud, and while that wouldn't have displeased me at all (self-confessed Cloud hater here) I don't think it would have worked well with everything they built in the plot.

In the end having the two not be siblings or former lovers keeps the plot cleaner, keeping the focus focus on the main character, Cloud.

Also, I really really really love Aerith and Zack together. I'm not sure SephirothxAerith would have made as fun as a pairing, though the intrigue would definitely spice up the plot.

I made a thread a couple years back just for "what if?" scenarios, so they would at least all be in one place. It fell into disuse and was forgotten

Because they had to choose with killing off a member of the gang they had a choice of either Barret or Aerith dying.So,they went with Aerith because Barret dying wouldn't have the same amount of effect that Aerith's death has had.And frankly I think they were right in that choice because Aerith's death did shook the fans and characters hard.
