Sephiroth can't get the black materia himself. The Ancients designed the temple so that you can't retrieve the black materia and survive. That's the point of all the games with Cloud. The Black Capes aren't stable enough to do it. And letting Cloud chase him is treating him the same as the rest of the capes,

Seph got in the temple just fine and had no problem sacrificing pieces of Jenova before and after the whole temple affair.

I never minded Sephiroth or Id from Xenogears, but Ultimecia was a terrible villain overall though I am not sure if you'd call her a villain sue as some poorly written gobbledigook let the party engage and kill her with ease. Wrathful guys with long hair are cool.

I have a love/hate relationship with David Bowie wielding the soul edge aka Caius. I actually really identify with him. I'm just as nihilistic and hellbent on protecting things close to me. I like dark blues and purples. Above else his voice sounds slightly British too.

I just wish the heroes thought of something smart to imprison him. Couldn't you just, you know, lead him to a trap and keep him there? You can't kill him, so you'd have to seal him away.

But whenever hero's take that route, the villein almost always manages to find a way to break the seal. Sealing someone away nowadays is like tipping the audience off that he'll be back someday.

Meh, let's think from a character based perspective. How would you deal with him? He's immortal. The fact it never occurred to them that it might be more efficient to seal the bastard somewhere using a Fal'Cie or something doesn't make sense.

I realized that Genesis fits the description more than anyone else.

I don't know if he's exactly a 'Villain Sue' but he probably fits into one of the many Sue tropes.

Interesting tidbit.. I've learned that Gackt is also an author and it seems that Genesis isn't the only Stu he's created.
