I remember "figuring it out" while watching it and being incredibly smug. Then the ending came and I was just like, ok now I don't get it.

I actually don't think there's anything sexual in it, or that either character is gay. I just think they're two emotionally repressed guys who don't know how to open up to each other. But it's certainly open to interpretation. I think the ending's perfect, though.
