Which game should I play?

I'm looking for objective opinions on Parasite Eve 2, Final Fantasy VIII and Chrono Cross, and which one you consider the best out of the three.

I'd say FFVIII, although that's based on me having played the most out of that game.

Well, I haven't played the three of them, but I would tell you my opinion about Final Fantasy VIII. I know its not what you asked but, I hope it might be helpful xD.

I liked Final Fantasy VIII but the leveling system sucks pretty much, as for magic. Magic options are limited, since one character can only have 8 pages (and its five per page) of magics he/she can learn. Also IMO I find Squall rather boring. The typical (Im alone I hate everyone) character that is uninteresting the whole story. Then again that's how I see it, doesn't necessarily mean that anyone sees him that way. Another bad factor is that you can't get money really easily and that you might lose GF's if you failed to draw them from monsters.

BUUUT the story is really great. Some people don't like the whole "school" thing, but I really loved it. At some point someone gets confused in the story, since it has all this time compression thing and witches but...its definitely worth it. Also Zell, one of the characters is actually pretty funny. I also liked the fact that like in a real job, you have to earn SeeD ranks in order to earn more money. It has a card game (Sorry I don't remember its name ) that I liked pretty much. One has to be careful since the rules changes depending on how much the Player has travelled.

So yeah, that's pretty much my insight on Final Fantasy VIII. This by any means doesn't mean that all the users think that way . Hope it helps on your decision.

Honestly get over yourself. Me noticing that a certain group of people will defend each other without reason isn't trolling, that's something that is apparent everywhere, and when you don't notice it that's usually because you're in said dick clique. I visit here because a lot of the final fantasy discussion is amazing and very in depth. Especially in comparison to other final fantasy forums.

Like for real instead of proving my point don't involve yourself in such an obviously biased fashion, when all I did was respond to an accusation or jab at myself.

To answer your question.
I fell asleep playing FFVIII. The game never came alive except when Laguna was in it. I hate card games in video games anyway.
I have never played the other two but I hear they are both better than FFVII. I loved Chrono Trigger, and people say Chrono Cross is almost as good.

i liked parasite eve ii the most except the shitty inability to change the controls on the ps3 so aya walks around like a partially crippled neanderthal

ff8 was pretty dull and chrono cross was slightly better in that i found it playable, but it wasn't particularly exciting to play

Okay, let's just clear the air and get back on topic here.

For the record I wasn't making any "accusation" or "jab at you", so I have no idea why you reacted so hostile towards me. I was trying to make a point that when you ask something like "which game should I play" and then ask for our opinions, anything we're going to suggest is going to be subjective. Asking for an "objective opinion" technically doesn't make any sense, since an opinion in the context of your request requires bias and a subjective view.

You want an objective view on the games? Go look up Wikipedia. I wouldn't think I needed to explain all this, but since you clearly saw something in my post that offended you, I guess I had to go and explain myself.

Also I don't think asking people not to thank other people is going to make them stop, . If "everybody" thanks me, it's because they agree with what I said, not because of this "dick clique". Agreeing with what a person says is a pretty good reason for thanking them, hmm?
I do think that sometimes people will tend to thank others because they reside within a social clique, but hell, that's what a clique generally is! It's people who share the same interests, and tend to bloody agree with each other! So yes, whatever, Dacon gets the most thanks because the people within TLS actually agree with what he contributes to the forum, not because everyone wants to bend over and take any and all of his bullshit up the ass.

I guess I can elaborate on what I've experienced with at least Parasite Eve II and Final Fantasy VIII. Both plots are batshit insane, Parasite Eve II moves away from PE 1's system and it works better with the genre it's trying to flout. FFVIII works with the ol' familiar ATB with some new icing on the cake using the GF/junction/etc. system. Both left a lasting impression, although the characters in Parasite Eve II feel like more of a device to simply carry the spectacle of the whole game, whereas FFVIII holds a metric ton more of musing and character development.

But yeah, sure, I'm just expanding my thoughts since you were so nice about it.

I like how the wikipedia article calls Chrono Cross' gameplay, "standard RPG gameplay with some differences". Besides being vague, I was pretty certain that's how every RPG is supposed to look these days. xD
