KULT OF KERMITU
Yesterday, I made a version of this poll, but since it was April Fools Day none of the options were even player characters, let alone protagonists.

Btw, the reason I, III, and VI's options say "one of (game)'s protagonists", is because FFI you can choose your four characters job classes(you can even have 4 of the same one), as with III(where you can change your characters job classes whenever you want as well), and according to official sources, VI doesn't have just one main protagonist.

Anyway, my favorite is Cloud.:cloudball:

Abortedj

The Crawling Chaos
AKA
Abortedj, The Offender, Abortedjesus, Testicules,
Cecil. Zidane being a close second. Cloud is too confused, Squall is too much of a douche. Tidus and Vaan both suffer from being horrid an upbeat. So yeah, Cecil.

Cloud has grown on me as a character.I think its his depiction in the original game that really makes me like him.Plus he only became a brooding loner in a lot of the spinoffs and ACC.The better depiction of him would be a serious type of guy who also has a shy side who sometimes does have a light hearted sense of humour.

Zidane takes top bid for me. He has some nice existential crises, he's gotta deal with the whole being a commoner when his girl is royalty. Also he's really not your typical hero, which works in his favour.

I also voted for Zidane, he's the best all around. Right from the start he's charismatic but also a free spirited guy that jokes around but he also can be pretty serious when it comes down to the things that matter. Then later on he just goes through that whole character development (point of weakness) and comes out even stronger. It's THE BEST. IT'S ALSO THE BEST ZIDANE/DAGGER MOMENT EVER.

As I said during that 30 days of FF thing (and in the joke version of this thread before I realised it was a joke), Terra.

Anyway I have to go with Terra/Tina. Several other characters deserve mentions, but Terra is first by a long shot. Drake summed up a lot of what makes Terra so appealing. For the rest, I'll just repeat a post I made last year:

Definitely don't need to think about this one at all. It's Tina Branford. Despite being the opposite gender I identified with her as soon as the game started, and continued identifying with her character arc throughout the entire game. Her arc from shy, confused ex-slave of the Empire to self-sufficient distributor of justice is a wonder to behold, and one of the factors I like most about the game. She's a very complex character whose arc is handled in a completely believable fashion, and the issues she has to cope with throughout it are matters that nearly every human being has to deal with at some point in their life (and if they don't, I'd have to wonder whether they even have a conscience). And her character theme is just marvellous. Suffice it to say that if there were not a Tina Branford I probably would never have gotten as wrapped up in this series as I did.
